BMW F 450 GS 2026

BMW F 450 GS 2026

The BMW F 450 GS Trophy is far more than just a scaled-down version of the full-size GS. It combines accessible A2-licence-friendly power with a surprising amount of riding pleasure, high-quality features and a genuine sense of adventure. The new twin-cylinder engine impresses with its character, whilst the Easy Ride Clutch noticeably makes everyday riding and light off-road riding easier, without taking control away from the rider. The little GS is particularly at home on winding roads, gravel tracks and rough mountain passes. Its limitations become apparent at motorway speeds, during heavy off-road use, when dealing with a payload and in terms of wind protection. Nevertheless, there’s a surprising amount of GS in the F 450 – a well-rounded everyday and touring companion for beginners, those returning to motorcycling and experienced riders who deliberately want to avoid heavy weight and excessive power.

A characterful, lively 420cc twin-cylinder

Very nimble and responsive on tarmac and gravel

Easy Ride Clutch makes everyday riding, city traffic and light off-road riding easier

Good ergonomics whether sitting or standing

Decent range thanks to low fuel consumption

High-quality GS-style controls and a modern TFT display

Inspires confidence in less experienced riders

Surprisingly capable off-road for an A2-category adventure bike

No cruise control available

The Trophy’s wind protection is only moderate

Spoked wheels not yet available at launch

With the engine switched off, the bike rolls backwards due to ERC

Payload capacity limited for two-up riding with luggage

Noticeable performance limitations above 130 km/h

BMW’s typical policy of charging extra for options can significantly increase the price

Suzuki SV 650 2016

Suzuki SV 650 2016

The Suzuki SV 650 is accompanied by a long history of success that is sure to continue for a long time. Its supple V2 impresses with very smooth response and plenty of torque. Compact dimensions help to make the motorbike look very compact. This will be very convenient for beginners. The chassis also scores with playful handling. Unfortunately, the braking effect is not at the level one would expect from such a powerful vehicle.

Smooth engine

playful handling

great chassis

Brake too weak
