Suzuki DR-Z4S 2025

Suzuki DR-Z4S 2025

The Suzuki DR-Z4S is an all-round successful comeback - not a shallow retro rehash, but a consistently modernised further development of a popular and proven concept. It remains true to its line: robust, easy to use, versatile and yet capable of many things. It is a bike for a small niche of riders, between hard enduro riders and adventure bike riders. For this niche, however, it fills an important gap as a true dual sport bike and hardly allows itself any weaknesses. The most critical points are the remaining 5-speed transmission and the high price. Whether these points discourage a purchase or whether the DR-Z4S is still worthwhile as a legend and versatile vehicle remains a matter of taste.

Great, smooth yet powerful engine that makes off-road riding easy

Beautifully responsive KYB suspension with a wide adjustment range

Good-natured yet agile handling

Excellent gravel mode of the traction control

Intuitive operation of the electronics

Active ergonomics

Good country road and long-distance qualities

Nicely controllable brakes

Fills a gap in the motorbike segment

Long gear ratio as limit for tough off-road use

Fork preload not adjustable

Handlebars a little low for tall riders around 1.90 metres

Standard tyres as a limit on loose off-road terrain

High price for an A2 bike

Royal Enfield Himalayan 2020

Royal Enfield Himalayan 2020

The workmanship is of a surprisingly high standard for a motorbike that can be had in Germany and Austria for under 5,000 euros. Everything about the little Himalayan looks like it was built to last. Of course, the little Indian can't compete with others in terms of performance data, but it doesn't want to. It is a motorbike for individualists who want to escape society's higher, faster, further - deceleration of the first order.
