Yamaha's new automated manual transmission in the MT-09 offers an interesting alternative to manual shifting. In "AT" mode, automated clutching makes riding easier, especially in city traffic, while "MT" mode preserves riding pleasure and sportiness. The neutral gear is now in first position, followed by gears 1 to 6, which enables smoother gear changes. Although the Y-AMT technology requires some familiarisation and there are limitations, such as the lack of "sliding" by pulling the clutch, yet the driving experience remains dynamic.

Honda's CB650R proves brilliantly that four-cylinder naked bikes with little displacement are also a real source of joy on the country road.
