Aprilia Tuareg 660 2022

Aprilia Tuareg 660 2022

The Aprilia Tuareg 660 is an extremely smooth-running adventure bike. This applies to the linear revving engine, the fine clutch and the low weight of the Italian. It scores particularly well off-road. At the Bosnia Rally, it was able to take on almost everything and was even convincing in crisp off-road terrain. Small weak points, such as an engine that dies too quickly and a screw on the gear lever that is in danger of breaking, can hardly spoil the fun on it. With its powerful travel, the lightweight is interesting for all adventure bike riders who have off-road ambitions but want more electronics than in the purist Yamaha Tenere.

Linear, finely controllable power delivery

Finely controllable clutch

Successful ergonomics, both sitting and standing

Lush, well-functioning electronics package

Good suspension with long travel

Engine has little flywheel mass, tends to die off quickly

rear brake bites a little too hard for loose surfaces

less robust cast aluminium screw on the gear lever as a weak point in the event of falls/crashes

Fantic Caballero 700 2023

Fantic Caballero 700 2023

The Fantic Caballero 700 is a bit of a cheat - but a really clever one! The engine of this smart Italian comes from Japan, where it is known as the CP2 and powers successful models such as the MT-07 and Tenere 700. Accordingly, the Fantic is agile and lively, weighing 188 kilos ready to ride. Add to that pleasantly easy handling and a comfortable riding position paired with a ravishingly authentic look - and you have a really good scrambler. Since the tyres basically work well and only the larger 19-inch front wheel prevents even more agile handling, sticking to the scrambler style is also perfectly fine here.

Agile and reliable CP2 engine from Yamaha

comfortable riding position

good, everyday Pirelli tyres

Gorgeously authentic scrambler look

Cornering ABS

Only one single disc brake at the front

Set-up torque when braking in inclined position
