Touratech Suspension Upgrade for CFMOTO Adventure Bikes

For the CFMOTO 450MT, 800MT, and 800MT-X, Touratech Suspension offers a range of suspension optimization options. These range from replacing individual springs starting at 169 euros to a complete kit for the 450MT priced at 2,598 euros.

CFMOTO has now established a presence in the European market with several adventure enduros. Touratech distinguishes between the 450MT as an entry-level all-rounder, the road-oriented 800MT, and the 800MT-X, which is more geared toward off-road and long-distance travel. For these three models, Touratech Suspension offers various suspension components. According to the manufacturer, depending on the bike and chosen solution, these components offer benefits especially for higher payloads, sporty riding, and more demanding off-road scenarios. Touratech does not use the same solution for all three CFMOTO models. While the 800MT can be upgraded with relatively simple spring modifications, the 450MT can be more extensively modified. For the 800MT-X, a specially tuned Extreme Shock is available.

For the CFMOTO 450MT from the 2024 model year onwards, the suspension offering includes an Extreme Shock for the rear and an Open Cartridge Kit for the fork. Both components are available separately. According to Touratech, the Extreme Shock offers a wide adjustment range for spring preload, along with adjustable rebound and compression damping. The default setup chosen by Touratech is tailored for a rider weighing around 100 kilograms plus typical travel luggage. Customization to meet personal preferences is also possible. The Extreme Shock for the CFMOTO 450MT is priced at 1,299 euros.

The front of the CFMOTO 450MT can also be upgraded. The Open Cartridge Kit completely replaces the stock hydraulics and mechanics of the KYB fork. According to Touratech, no further modifications to the bike are necessary. After installation, the spring preload, as well as rebound and compression damping, can be adjusted from the top. Touratech claims that the Cartridge Kit responds well to road irregularities while also providing reserves for more demanding off-road use. An integrated hydraulic end stop is designed to prevent bottoming out under heavy loads. The Open Cartridge Kit is also priced at 1,299 euros.

For riders looking to gear their 450MT more towards off-road adventures, Touratech takes it a step further. They offer a combination of the Extreme Shock and Open Cartridge Kit with an additional 25mm of suspension travel. The complete +25mm set is available under item number 372-5908 and is priced at 2,598 euros. This provides options for the 450MT, from individual components to a comprehensive package designed for extensive off-road use.

For the CFMOTO 800MT from model year 2021 onwards, the options start at a significantly lower price. Touratech offers progressive fork springs for 169 euros. Alternatively, there's a set with progressive replacement springs for both the fork and shock, priced at 279 euros. According to Touratech, these options are aimed at 800MT riders who want to modify the stock suspension with minimal effort, without fully upgrading to a premium suspension system. Lowering options are also available. Progressive fork springs for a 25mm reduction in height cost 169 euros, while a complete lowering kit with replacement springs for both the fork and shock is offered at 279 euros.

For the CFMOTO 800MT-X from model year 2025 onwards, Touratech takes a different approach. This model, which is more focused on off-road and long-distance travel, features a model-specific tuned Extreme Shock. According to Touratech, the monoshock offers the same extensive adjustment options as the corresponding shock for the smaller CFMOTO 450MT. The Extreme Shock for the 800MT-X is priced at 1,499 euros. Additionally, Touratech offers a technically identical version that allows the seat height to be reduced by 25 millimeters, also priced at 1,499 euros.

This gives the suspension components listed in the press release a price range from 169 to 2,598 euros.

The new range covers various approaches. For the CFMOTO 800MT, modifications can start with replacing the springs. In contrast, the 450MT has options for a new shock, a cartridge kit, and a variant with additional suspension travel. The 800MT-X can be equipped with an Extreme Shock or lowered by 25 millimeters.
