Touratech Guardo Rambler GTX PRO: New 3-Season Glove

Waterproof GORE-TEX membrane, Gore Grip technology, and a Temperfoam knuckle protector: with the successor to the Rambler GTX, Touratech combines weather protection with various comfort and protective features.

From sunshine to a sudden downpour, conditions on a bike trip can change quickly. That's why Touratech positions the new Guardo Rambler GTX PRO as a waterproof and breathable 3-season glove. The model is the revised successor to the Rambler GTX. According to Touratech, both customer feedback on the previous model and experience gathered by the company's own test teams went into the development. The focus here isn't just on the materials used. Touratech has also revised the construction of the glove, combining GORE-TEX Gore Grip technology with a flexible knuckle protector, leather on the palm, and additional cushioning elements.

GORE-TEX Gore Grip technology plays a central role in the Guardo Rambler GTX PRO. Unlike a construction where the outer material, membrane, and inner lining lie loosely on top of one another, these three components are permanently bonded into a laminate. This is meant to bring advantages especially in day-to-day handling of the glove. According to Touratech, the inner lining stays in position when putting the glove on and taking it off, and cannot twist even when wet. Thanks to the fixed bond, Touratech also promises a more precise grip feel, higher tactile sensitivity, and lower water absorption of the outer material. At the same time, the GORE-TEX construction is designed to make the glove both waterproof and breathable. This means the Guardo Rambler GTX PRO is built for changing weather conditions throughout the bike season.

Touratech also takes a different approach to knuckle protection compared to classic hard-shell solutions. The Guardo Rambler GTX PRO features a knuckle protector made of Temperfoam. The material has shape memory and is designed to adapt to the individual movements of the hand. Compared to a rigid hard-shell protector, the flexible construction is meant to allow greater freedom of movement without sacrificing protective performance. Hand mobility plays a particularly important role on a touring glove, since the throttle, clutch, brake, and controls need to remain controllable even over longer stretches.

In addition to knuckle protection, Touratech has also equipped the palm with various materials and protective elements. High-quality goatskin leather is used here, which is meant to contribute to abrasion resistance. The leather construction is complemented by TPU-reinforced sliding zones. Additional cushioning elements made of SEESOFT memory foam are located on the palm heel and thumb area. This means Touratech combines different materials within a single glove: while the Temperfoam protector covers the knuckles, different solutions are used on the palm, palm heel, and thumb. The Guardo Rambler GTX PRO is certified as a protective glove for bike riders according to EN 13594:2015.

Touratech has also taken various constructive details into account on the new glove that are meant to contribute to comfort on longer rides. These include pre-shaped fingers and external seams. In the wrist area, Touratech additionally uses an elastic 4-way stretch material. The construction is designed to support mobility and, together with the Gore Grip technology, contribute to wearing comfort on longer stretches. How well the glove actually fits a given hand naturally remains individual. In addition to the construction, hand shape and the chosen size, among other factors, play a role.

Touratech covers a broad range when it comes to sizing. The Guardo Rambler GTX PRO is offered in sizes 6 to 13. Two color variants are available. Buyers can choose between black and gray/yellow. The item number starts at 515-1550 ff. and varies depending on the chosen version.

Touratech has set the price for the new 3-season glove at 169.90 euros. For that, the manufacturer combines the waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX construction with Gore Grip technology, Temperfoam knuckle protection, goatskin leather, and additional TPU as well as SEESOFT elements.

With the Guardo Rambler GTX PRO, Touratech is deliberately developing its previous Rambler GTX further. Customer feedback and experience from Touratech's test teams are said to have gone into the revision. The Gore Grip construction, in which the outer material, membrane, and inner lining are firmly bonded together, is at the center of it. This is complemented by the flexible Temperfoam knuckle protector and various protective and comfort elements on the palm, thumb, and wrist.
