Rally Raid Adventures Ltd. announces the second edition of the Monterra Raid for September 2026. From September 5th to 12th, the event will guide adventure motorcycle riders through Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro. The start and finish line is in Belašnica near Sarajevo, with the participant field limited to a maximum of 60 riders.

The Monterra Raid specifically targets riders of large adventure motorcycles such as the KTM Adventure, BMW GS, Ducati DesertX, Honda Africa Twin, or Yamaha Ténéré 700. The organizers explicitly emphasize that this is not a race, but a "Motorcycle Adventure Raid" – a blend of demanding off-road passages and organized long-distance travel. Only bikes weighing over 160 kilograms are permitted, making the route profile correspondingly challenging.

Over six riding days, participants will tackle approximately 1,000 kilometers through the mountain regions of the Western Balkans. The route consists of panoramic trails, winding mountain passes, and technically demanding off-road sections. According to the organizers, solid off-road experience is required, targeting ambitious riders.

Unlike traditional rallies, the Monterra Raid combines the riding challenges with a well-organized infrastructure. After each stage, participants stay in selected hotels, with meals and accommodation included in the concept. According to the organizers, the limited number of participants is intended to ensure a personal atmosphere where each rider remains on the radar of the organizing team.

The second edition following the 2025 debut demonstrates that a market for adventure formats beyond traditional competitions has been established.
