LiveWire S2 Del Mar – The Story So Far…

The S2 Del Mar was the first model on the new Arrow platform and remains the sportiest of the three. All three models share key technical components like the drivetrain, battery technology, and assistance systems, yet they clearly differ in concept, chassis geometry, features, and design ethos. Weighing in at 196 kg, the Del Mar is the lightest model, also boasting 63 kW of power and 263 Nm of torque. It was also part of our urban test ride through the German capital, urban in nature.

The look draws inspiration from flat-track racing: short seat, upright cockpit, and 19-inch wheels with Dunlop DT-1 tires developed specifically for this model. Its range is slightly lower than the other two, with 181 km in the city and 112 km on the highway. There are six riding modes to choose from, two of which are fully customizable, and the regeneration varies depending on the selected mode. With a seat height of 825 mm, it's likely to appeal most to taller riders. It presents itself as a full-sized motorcycle. We already have detailed tests of the LiveWire S2 Del Mar available online.

LiveWire S2 Mulholland – Electric Performance Cruiser

With the Mulholland, LiveWire introduces an electric take on the cruiser. The focus is on relaxed yet dynamic riding and a bold design statement. That eye-catching front headlight might seem familiar to the sharp-eyed motorcycle enthusiast, having been spotted somewhere before. What you won't get with the combustion engine model from the parent company are power wheelies from a standstill at traffic lights. Berlin pedestrians were wide-eyed when the Mulholland lifted its 19-inch front wheel skyward during acceleration.

This is thanks to the 63 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor delivering 263 Nm of torque. It's incredible that we're talking about an A2-compliant bike here, which propels the 197 kg motorcycle from 0-100 km/h in about three seconds. LiveWire claims a city range of 194 km, and 115 km out of town on paper, although these figures heavily depend on riding style.

LiveWire is committed to sustainability with the materials it uses: the seat is made from silicone instead of plastic, and fairing parts are crafted from recycled fishing nets (Hylon Ocean). In the Lunar White variant, unpainted materials are used, with fenders made from a hemp bio-composite.

Chassis-wise, the Mulholland is equipped with a long fork featuring a 27° rake and 135 mm of front travel, with a monoshock rear suspension offering 100 mm of travel. The 19-inch front wheel is paired with a 17-inch rear, and the Dunlop Roadsmart IV comes as standard equipment. The relaxed upright riding position is advantageous beyond city traffic. The Mulholland comes as a single-seater from the factory, with an optional pillion seat available. It is offered in three color variants and features a seat height of 805 mm.

LiveWire S2 Alpinista – Agile Newcomer

The latest addition to the S2 lineup is called the Alpinista, and like its siblings, it's built on the Arrow platform but takes on a sportier concept with touring ambitions. Compared to the Del Mar, the seat height is 20 mm lower (also 805 mm), benefiting ergonomics for shorter riders.

A direct switch reveals that the 17-inch wheels (also equipped with Dunlop Roadsmart IV tires) provide significantly more agile handling. The upside-down fork gives the impression of having the front wheel in your hands, while the wide handlebars complete the package, making the Alpinista an urban powerhouse despite its name suggesting otherwise. Swiftly maneuvering through Berlin's rush hour traffic, it effortlessly maneuvers through bike lanes without drawing ire, thanks to its nearly silent operation. Four preset and two customizable riding modes allow for personalizing the bike to fit riding style and environment. Like the Del Mar, it features a lean-angle-sensitive traction control, which can be deactivated—did someone mention burnouts?

The Alpinista is designed for two-up riding, as demonstrated by the daring camerawoman, and is available in Glacier Silver and Asphalt Black. However, it has a payload capacity of only 167 kg. Optional accessories include a sport seat, luggage solutions, and styling parts.

The LiveWire S2 Family: Quick Model Comparison

While the Del Mar, Alpinista, and Mulholland share the same platform and identical powertrain, they differ significantly in concept and purpose. The S2 Del Mar, with its flat-track-inspired look, higher seat position (825 mm), and 19-inch wheels, appeals primarily to sporty urban riders. Its specialized Dunlop DT-1 tires and steeper fork geometry promote agile, direct handling in urban environments.

The S2 Alpinista positions itself as a hybrid between a supermoto and a tourer. Featuring 17-inch wheels, a shorter wheelbase, and a lower seat height (805 mm), it offers balanced handling with increased everyday usability—especially for shorter riders or those riding two-up. Accessories for luggage transport emphasize its touring capability.

The S2 Mulholland, on the other hand, targets riders seeking a cruiser-like riding experience in a modern package. Its relaxed geometry, upright seating position, and intentional use of sustainable materials give it a unique character. What unites all three models is the direct, gearless drive, comprehensive assistance systems, and connected features. By diversifying its offerings, LiveWire can appeal to different target audiences. All models are available for test rides at your nearest LiveWire dealer.
