Akrapovic is launching the Racing Line (SS) exhaust system with Euro5+ homologation for the Suzuki GSX-8S/8R. Development focused on optimised throttle response and performance, resulting in a power increase of 2.5 hp at 9500 rpm and a torque gain of 1.4 Newton metres at 5500 rpm compared to the standard Suzuki GSX-8S exhaust system. Tested on Akrapovic's in-house dyno, the new exhaust system also delivers a weight reduction of an impressive 29.1 percent (2.2 kilos), which is intended to improve handling and efficiency.

The Racing Line tackles the mid-range Suzuki on three fronts at once: performance, weight, and looks. According to the manufacturer, the system adds around 2.5 hp at 9500 rpm and 1.4 Nm at 5500 rpm, but above all it cuts weight by a hefty 2.2 kilograms, almost 30 percent compared to the stock system. The complete system is made from high-quality stainless steel with a handmade carbon cover, with the catalytic converter housed in the end can. Great for everyday use: the system is EC-approved and Euro 5 plus compliant, comes as plug-and-play, and requires no remapping. Sound-wise, the manufacturer promises a deep, sporty tone in MotoGP style. We weren't able to run our own dyno tests, and the power gain remains modest for a design that's close to a slip-on. For GSX riders who want to upgrade the looks and sound while staying legal, this system is a well-rounded choice, as it noticeably saves weight while remaining road legal.
