A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing on the Supermoto Test Track

The Suzuki GSX-S1000 GX presented itself on the Supermoto test track in Bad Fischau as part of our 1000PS Bestzeit video production. Visually, the bike comes across as comfortable and refined, with a certain restraint and a stately aura created mainly by the expansive front section, which protects the rider from wind and weather.

A Surprising Turn When Riding

The first moments in the saddle of the Suzuki GSX-S1000 GX are marked by a comfort reminiscent of a touring bike. However, this calm is deceptive, because as soon as the four-cylinder engine is unleashed, the bike reveals its true, surprisingly sporty face. The short straights on the track shrink to micro-sections as you're catapulted from corner to corner.

Sporty Performance Hidden Beneath a Comfortable Facade

It's astonishing how much sportiness is packed into this visually laid-back bike. The four-cylinder engine delivers explosive acceleration that stretches your arms and gives you the feeling of being catapulted forward. The riding position is excellent throughout, supported by a high-quality chassis and the Bridgestone T32 tires, which offer plenty of control and dynamic possibilities in the corners.

High-Quality Technology and Chassis Dynamics

The engine's linear behavior under acceleration is impressive, supported by an electronic chassis that effectively transfers power to the rear wheel. The sporty chassis delivers crisp feedback, perfectly complemented by the excellent riding position. However, the maximum lean angle remains at a rather touring-oriented level.

nastynils

The Suzuki GSX-S1000GX does a damn good job as a crossover bike. The range of possible uses is huge. In the saddle, you feel equally at home riding sportily and touring comfortably. A very practical bike that brings a lot of joy and is a pleasure to take on long tours.

insanely good engine

great throttle response, great torque curve

very good integration of the quickshifter including perfect shifting

Very high-quality overall impression - the bike feels very reliable

Very stable riding performance in all situations

Good electronic chassis enables a very wide range of use

The bike feels authentic both as a comfortable touring machine and as an aggressive sport bike

Comfortable seating comfort

Accessible and logical operation of the electronics

Very harmonious riding performance

hardly any vibrations and no annoying noises - the bike presents itself very confidently

The maximum payload is 198kg. For a touring bike, that's a bit too tight

In this price class, the extensive standard equipment is missing

a center stand and heated grips

Integration of a navigation system is cumbersome - no suitable mounting point available, standard software is not a full-fledged solution

Standard tires feel unwieldy and dampen the otherwise great impression

Windscreen only adjustable with tools
