New colours for established Yamaha models

Several Yamaha models head into the season with fresh paint and new graphics. From rally heritage to racing retro, there's plenty on offer. These models get a new look:

Yamaha RW700 and RW700 Explore: CP2 meets adventure scooter

Scooter fairing, helmet compartment and a motorcycle drivetrain underneath: the new RW700 combines the 689 cc CP2 with 69.3 hp, chain drive and the Y-AMT automated six-speed gearbox. A 35 kW version has also been announced. Spoked wheels, five riding modes and adjustable footpegs are designed to make the switch from commuting to gravel easier. Cruise control and a connected TFT are included, while the Explore adds a fork with additional adjustability, heated grips and a heated rider seat, plus a centre stand. You'll find all the details on the new family in our report on the RW700 and RW700 Explore.

Yamaha RW350: Fixed engine, moving CVT

The smaller RW350 also combines everyday scooter practicality with trips off the tarmac. Its new single makes 29.2 hp from 327 cc. The real highlight is called Yamaha Dynamic Ride: the engine is fixed in the frame while the CVT unit moves. This is intended to reduce unsprung mass. Add to that three riding modes, cruise control, a USD fork and footrests for different seating positions. According to Yamaha, there's room under the seat for a full-face helmet, depending on its shape and size. How this unusual concept is put together is explained in our dedicated report on the RW350.

Yamaha Ténéré 4 Concept: A2 adventure bike with a new single

The Ténéré family could grow downwards. With the Ténéré 4 Concept, Yamaha is showing an ongoing development project for a lightweight A2-class adventure bike. A new single and a newly developed frame form the basis, while KYB suspension and 21/18-inch spoked wheels underline its off-road focus. The slim silhouette nods to its rally roots. For now, it's a concept study and not an announced production model with a fixed launch date. Read what Yamaha is already showing in our report on the Ténéré 4 Concept.

Yamaha NMAX E: The MAX family goes electric

For the city, Yamaha builds the NMAX E on a newly developed A1 platform. The frame-mounted electric motor delivers 7.5 kW and drives the rear wheel via a belt. With the 3.5 kWh battery, Yamaha quotes a WMTC range of 104 kilometres. Charging is via an integrated 800-watt charger on a Type 2 connector or with a special cable from a household socket. Reverse function, three riding modes and a five-inch TFT with smartphone navigation complete the package. Launch is announced for spring 2027. More on the tech and features in our report on the NMAX E.

Yamaha XENTER E: Big wheels for electric everyday riding

With the XENTER E, Yamaha relies on 16-inch wheels, a flat step-through floor and an electric A1 drive with 7.5 kW. The 3.5 kWh battery is said to allow up to 108 kilometres according to WMTC. An integrated charger, reverse function and traction control are part of the concept, as is a connected five-inch TFT. The big-wheel scooter is announced for spring 2027. In parallel, Yamaha is showing a combustion-engined XENTER as a concept. You'll find all the information on both approaches in our dedicated report on the XENTER E.

Yamaha MT-125: New seat and an edgier face

For the smallest MT, the update goes beyond a new colour. Yamaha has reworked the seat, tank area, side panels and front end. The new ergonomics are designed to better accommodate different rider positions, while the nominal seat height stays at 810 mm. The familiar 125 cc VVA engine and Deltabox frame remain the basis. Redline White joins the colour range, and the European launch is planned from the first quarter of 2027. What actually changes and which features are already known is covered in our report on the 2027 MT-125.

Yamaha YZ250F and the Competition range: New tech for motocross

The YZ250F is at the heart of the motocross news. A newly developed 249 cc engine with a revised valvetrain and higher compression is set to deliver more power and torque. A hydraulic clutch, revised gearbox and frame and suspension components derived from the YZ450F are part of the overhaul. The YZ85 and YZ65 also receive technical updates. New graphics accompany the model family, plus Monster Energy Editions for the YZ450F, YZ250F, YZ250 and YZ125. Get the overview in our report on the 2027 Off Road Competition range.

Yamaha WR450F, WR250F and TT-R: From entry level to enduro

On the WR450F, Yamaha has tackled both engine and chassis: new camshaft timing, a revised frame, asymmetric engine mounts and a hydraulic clutch are intended to improve off-road rideability. The WR250F combines its YZ250F-derived engine with an enduro setup. Both WR models feature an ECU lock that can be operated via the Power Tuner app. The TT-R50 and TT-R110 round out the range for young riders. The models and their features are covered in our joint report on the 2027 WR and TT-R.

Yamaha YE-01 Racing Concept: An electric glimpse of the MX track

Yamaha is also developing an electric drive for motocross. The YE-01 Racing Concept, created together with Electric Motion, combines YZ450F chassis technology with the French partner's electric drivetrain know-how. Yamaha had announced a demonstration run for the 2026 MXoN in Ernée. That doesn't make the YE-01 a confirmed production model for 2027; no power figures, battery specs or production date have been given. The announced development step is explained in our report on the YE-01 Racing Concept.

Yamaha ATV 2027: Grizzly, Kodiak and sport models

The new-model year also includes four wheels. On the Grizzly 700 EPS XT-R, Titanium Bronze with Tactical Black joins the colour range. Yamaha also highlights the latest EPS power steering for the Grizzly 700 EPS XT-R, Kodiak 700 EPS and Kodiak 450 EPS. However, this doesn't mean an all-new Kodiak: for the utility range, the report explicitly states unchanged technical specs, colours and graphics. The YFM700R SE, YFZ450R including SE and the youth models YFM110R and YFZ50 round out the line-up. Find the classification and colour options in our overview of Yamaha's 2027 ATV range.
