Zontes 552 Scooters: Four Variants with Twin-Cylinder Engine and 47.6 hp

From 185 to 215 kilos, the same drivetrain four times over

A new twin-cylinder engine, four distinct looks, and plenty of comfort features: Zontes is unveiling its 552 scooters at EICMA 2026. It's especially worth taking a closer look at the differences in weight, chassis, and seat height.

Four scooters, one new twin-cylinder engine, and yet differences that go beyond the fairing: Zontes is presenting the ZT552T-H, ZT552T-G, ZT552T-S, and ZT552T-Z models at EICMA 2026. The shared base delivers 47.6 hp, but according to the manufacturer, there's a 30-kilogram gap between the lightest and heaviest family member. On top of that come different wheel sizes, seat heights, and chassis data. It's worth taking a closer look at the letters following the 552.

Zontes 552: New twin-cylinder with 531 cc

The number on the scooter isn't the exact displacement: the new, liquid-cooled twin-cylinder engine features 531 cc and a compression ratio of 11:1. Zontes states 35 kW or 47.6 hp at 7,250 rpm and 56 Nm at 5,500 rpm for all four variants. Two balancer shafts are meant to reduce vibrations and ensure smooth running even at low rpm. Forged pistons and ceramic-coated aluminum cylinders are intended to improve heat dissipation, durability, and efficiency. A CVT transmission handles the gearing, for which the presentation mentions a double-toothed belt running in an oil bath.

Zontes 552 with cruise control and two riding modes

Shared equipment includes ride-by-wire. According to Zontes, the electronic throttle is meant to react more precisely and directly and enables the use of cruise control. Two riding modes are available. Traction control, dual-channel ABS, and tire pressure monitoring round out the package. The traction control monitors both front and rear wheels to counteract slip, while the tire pressure monitoring provides its values in real time. The technical data sheet lists Euro V+ and a consumption of 4.3 l/100 km for all four scooters. These are manufacturer figures.

Ride-by-wire, two riding modes, and cruise control are part of the shared equipment.

Zontes ZT552T-H: 185 kilos and aluminum frame

According to the technical documentation, the H is the lightest and lowest 552: 185 kg wet and a 760 mm seat height are listed in the data sheet. Its high-strength die-cast aluminum frame is meant to combine rigidity with low weight; Zontes states roughly eight kilograms for the main frame. The swingarm is also made of aluminum. An upside-down fork works up front, with a single shock at the rear. The presentation lists suspension travel of 120 mm front and 45 mm rear.

According to the manufacturer, the ZT552T-H weighs 185 kg wet and has a seat height of 760 mm.

For brakes, the ZT552T-H relies on radially mounted four-piston calipers, two 265 mm discs up front, and a single 265 mm disc at the rear. The tires measure 120/70 R15 front and 160/60 R15 rear, and the tank holds 15 liters. A tall, electrically adjustable windscreen is part of the equipment, as are taillight-integrated turn signals. This sets the H apart technically from its three siblings, all of which have a 17-inch front wheel.

Zontes ZT552T-G: crash bars and more suspension travel

The ZT552T-G shows a distinctive look in the manufacturer's images, with spoked wheels and crash bars. The side bars are made of single-piece stainless steel, while the swingarm and engine guard are aluminum. According to the presentation, its upside-down fork offers 140 mm of travel, with 54 mm stated for the rear mono-shock. This makes the G the family member with the highest values in each category. The windscreen can be adjusted into five positions.

The G combines spoked wheels and crash bars with two 276 mm brake discs up front.

Up front, two 276 mm discs with radially mounted four-piston calipers provide braking, with a 265 mm disc at the rear. The tires measure 120/70 R17 and 160/60 R15. At 215 kg wet, the G is also the heaviest of the four models, with a seat height of 780 mm and a tank capacity of 16 liters. Compared to the H, that's 30 kilograms more on the data sheet, with the seat sitting 20 mm higher.

Zontes ZT552T-S and ZT552T-Z in a tech comparison

The S and Z differ in their fairing design in the images but share the key technical specs listed here. Both weigh 205 kg wet according to Zontes, have a seat height of 770 mm, and a 16-liter tank. The tires match those of the G, at 120/70 R17 front and 160/60 R15 rear. An aluminum swingarm, the upside-down fork, and a rear mono-shock are also part of the package. The presentation states 120 mm of travel up front and 49 mm at the rear.

The ZT552T-S shares its listed technical key data with the ZT552T-Z.

The brake system also matches the G version in disc diameters: two 276 mm discs up front, one 265 mm disc at the rear, and radially mounted four-piston calipers. When it comes to wind protection, though, the S and Z follow the H's approach with a tall, electrically adjustable windscreen. Taillight-integrated turn signals are also included. So choosing between the S and Z means getting the same base specs in two different visual styles.

Zontes 552: NFC, app and heated seat

When it comes to comfort features, Zontes steps things up for the entire 552 family. The fourth-generation Intelligent Control System centrally manages the vehicle electronics. The scooter can be unlocked via NFC, including with a smartphone. The new Zontes Smart App allows riders to monitor vehicle status and record ride data. The seat and fuel cap are electrically unlocked. For cooler days, the presentation mentions heated grips and a heated seat, with temperature settings controlled via the instrument display. So the comfort package isn't limited to just the cruise control.

NFC and the Zontes Smart App round out the shared comfort features of the 552 family.
