The autumn flood of new models is just getting going, and Honda is checking in with its first new arrivals for the upcoming 2027 season. For example, the legendary touring models of the Gold Wing range are getting an update, as are the cool Rebel bikes.

Honda CMX500 Rebel 2027: E-Clutch and new TFT display

Honda is taking the Rebel family into the 2027 model year and is stepping things up technically, above all on the CMX500 Rebel. Alongside new colours, the half-litre cruiser gets the Honda E-Clutch for the first time, as well as a new round 3.5-inch TFT display. For the CMX1100 Rebel, CMX1100T Rebel and CMX1100 SE Rebel, on the other hand, Honda limits itself to changes to the colour palette.

Honda CMX500 Rebel 2027 gets the E-Clutch

The biggest technical innovation concerns the Honda CMX500 Rebel 2027. Honda is introducing E-Clutch technology on it. According to the manufacturer, this is intended to increase ease of use and everyday practicality.

On a bike like the CMX500 Rebel in particular, the idea fits the concept, at least on paper: Honda has positioned the machine as an accessible cruiser for years, and the E-Clutch now adds an extra technical component that makes everyday situations even more pleasant.

The CMX500 Rebel has been on the market since 2017. According to Honda, it has established itself as Europe's best-selling custom bike since 2021. In total, more than 67,000 units of the entire CMX range have now been sold in Europe.

Honda CMX500 Rebel 2027 with round TFT display

Honda is finally getting to work on the cockpit too. Instead of the somewhat dated LCD, the CMX500 Rebel 2027 gets a new round 3.5-inch TFT display. In addition, the switchgear on the left side of the handlebar has been revised.

Honda promises more intuitive operation and a clearer presentation of information and data as a result. Whether the new display actually brings a practical advantage over the previous solution can't be judged without a direct comparison. But a TFT display is now standard fare and at least provides a visual upgrade.

Honda CMX500 Rebel 2027: New colours

There are also changes to the looks. The regular Honda CMX500 Rebel 2027 is offered in two colours: - New: Mat Fresco Brown - Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic

The Honda CMX500 Rebel S-Edition 2027 is also available in two paint schemes: - New: Candy Rosy Red - Mat Gunpowder Black Metallic

This means both the standard model and the S-Edition each get a new colour option.

Honda CMX1100 Rebel 2027 technically unchanged

For the big Rebel family, the update is more modest. The CMX1100 Rebel, CMX1100T Rebel and CMX1100 SE Rebel remain technically unchanged for the 2027 model year. Instead, Honda is updating the available colours.

According to the manufacturer, more than 16,500 units of the large-displacement Rebel models have been sold in Europe over the past six years. Honda continues to offer the range in three model variants.

Honda CMX1100 Rebel 2027: The new colours

Two paint schemes are available for the Honda CMX1100 Rebel 2027: - New: Iridium Gray Metallic - Mat Ballistic Black Metallic

The Honda CMX1100T Rebel 2027 also gets a new colour option: - New: Mat Beta Silver Metallic

On the Honda CMX1100 SE Rebel 2027, by contrast, the colour choice remains unchanged. So while the CMX500 Rebel gets a genuine technical update for 2027, the three CMX1100 versions make do with a revised colour range.

Honda Rebel 2027: The key facts on the model year

The focus of the model year is clearly on the Honda CMX500 Rebel 2027. With the E-Clutch, a new 3.5-inch TFT and revised left-hand switchgear, it gets several technical changes at once.

On the big Rebels, however, Honda leaves the technology untouched. The CMX1100 Rebel and CMX1100T Rebel each get a new paint scheme, while the two colours of the CMX1100 SE Rebel remain.
