Previously, the Trident 660, with its 81 HP triple, marked the entry into the world of Triumph naked bikes for A-license holders (motorcycle license category). Similarly, the Trident Sport 660 was the first step into the touring motorcycle lineup. The lineup was completed by the more powerful Daytona 660, introduced in 2024. Now, the Trident and Tiger Sport benefit from their super sporty sister model and will roll off the line in 2026 stronger than ever.

Starting in 2026, both the Trident 660 and Tiger Sport 660 will benefit from the souped-up version of the 660 inline triple, previously only found in the Daytona. With the revamped engine, the Trident and Tiger Sport will now roar through the curves with 95 HP at 11,250 RPM and 68 Nm of torque at 8,250 RPM. This boosts the peak power by 14 HP compared to the previous model, while torque sees a slight increase. Over 80% of the torque is available from just 3,000 RPM, promising strong pull-through performance.

Engine Update with Technical Depth

The power boost results from several technical modifications. Instead of a single throttle valve, Triumph now uses three 44 mm individual throttle bodies (throttle valves), aiming to refine the throttle response and sound character of the triple. The cylinder head has also been revised, featuring larger exhaust valves and new cam profiles. A larger airbox and an improved radiator with optimized airflow enhance cooling and air circulation.

The even more powerful triple promises even more riding fun in 2026.

The engine is designed to be more rev-happy while responding more smoothly. The redline is now set at 12,650 RPM, about 20% higher than before. This update is complemented by a new engine mapping for more sensitive throttle response and smoother power delivery.

The transmission has also been reworked. New shafts, adjusted gear ratios, and an optimized Triumph Quickshifter aim to ensure faster, more precise gear changes. A new anti-hopping clutch reduces lever effort and increases controlespecially in urban traffic or during sporty riding.

Triumph Trident 660 - More Muscle for the Naked Bike

Additionally, the handlebar has been widened to 815 mm.

With a wet weight of 195 kg and a seat height of 810 mm, the Trident remains accessibleespecially for beginners or urban everyday use.

Triumph Tiger Sport 660 - Touring Capability with Extra Horsepower

The Tiger Sport 660 combines the power boost with greater everyday usability. A new 18.6-liter tank increases the range, while revised fairing parts and optimized radiator shrouds are designed to offer better wind protection.
