LiveWire S2 Del Mar – The Journey So Far…

The S2 Del Mar was the first model on the new Arrow platform and remains the sportiest of the three. All three models share core technical components such as the powertrain, battery technology, and assist systems, yet they clearly differ in concept, chassis geometry, equipment, and design ethos. Weighing in at 196 kg, the Del Mar is the lightest model, also equipped with 63 kW of power and 263 Nm of torque. It was also part of our urban ride through Germany's capital city.

The look draws inspiration from flat-track racing: short seat, upright cockpit, and 19-inch wheels with Dunlop DT-1 tires, specifically developed for this model. The range is slightly less compared to the other two models, with 181 km (City) and 112 km (Highway). There are six riding modes to choose from, two of which are freely configurable, with regeneration varying depending on the mode selected. The seat height is 825 mm, making it most appealing to taller riders. It presents itself as a full-fledged motorcycle. We've already published detailed tests on the LiveWire S2 Del Mar online.

LiveWire S2 Mulholland – Electric Performance Cruiser

With the Mulholland, LiveWire introduces an electric-powered interpretation of a cruiser. The focus is on relaxed yet dynamic riding and making a bold design statement. That striking front headlight might look familiar to keen motorcycle enthusiasts who may have seen it before. Unlike its combustion-engine counterpart from the parent company, you can pull off power wheelies at traffic lights with this model. Berlin pedestrians were certainly taken aback when the Mulholland raised its 19-inch front wheel skyward during acceleration.

The 63 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor with 263 Nm of torque is responsible for this impressive feat, making it hard to believe this is an A2-compliant motorcycle. It propels the 197 kg bike from 0 to 100 km/h in about three seconds. LiveWire claims a city range of 194 km, and 115 km is possible on paper for highways, though these figures can vary significantly depending on riding style.

LiveWire stands out with its sustainable use of materials: the seat is made from silicone instead of plastic, and fairing components are crafted from recycled fishing nets (Hylon Ocean). In the Lunar White variant, unpainted materials are used, with fenders made from a hemp bio-composite.

From a chassis standpoint, the Mulholland features a long fork with a 27° rake and 135 mm of front suspension travel, complemented by a monoshock at the rear with 100 mm of travel. The front 19-inch wheel is paired with a 17-inch rear counterpart, and the Dunlop Roadsmart IV is fitted as original equipment. The relaxed, upright seating position is advantageous, especially in urban traffic. The Mulholland comes as a single-seater by default, with an optional pillion seat available. It is offered in three color variants and has a seat height of 805 mm.

LiveWire S2 Alpinista – Agile Newcomer

The latest addition to the S2 lineup is called the Alpinista, also based on the Arrow platform, but it follows a sportier concept with touring ambitions. Compared to the Del Mar, its seat height is 20 mm lower (also 805 mm), which benefits ergonomics for shorter riders.

Switching directly to it, you'll immediately notice that the 17-inch wheels (also fitted with Dunlop Roadsmart IV tires) provide significantly more nimble handling. The upside-down fork offers a feeling as if you have the front wheel in your hands, and the wide handlebars perfectly complement the package, turning the Alpinista into an urban powerhouse contrary to its name. You'll weave through Berlin's rush-hour traffic with ease, and even on bike lanes, you won't face any scolding thanks to its nearly silent operation. Four pre-configured and two freely customizable riding modes help tailor the bike to individual riding styles and environments. Like the Del Mar, it features a deactivatable lean-sensitive traction controldid someone mention burnouts?

The Alpinista is designed for two-up riding, as the daring camerawoman impressively demonstrates, and it is available in Glacier Silver and Asphalt Black. However, the payload is limited to 167 kg. Accessories include a sport seat, luggage solutions, and styling parts.

The LiveWire S2 Family: Quick Model Comparison

While the Del Mar, Alpinista, and Mulholland share the same platform and identical drivetrain, they differ significantly in concept and intended use. The S2 Del Mar, with its flat track-inspired design, higher seat position (825 mm), and 19-inch wheels, primarily appeals to sport-oriented urban riders. Its specialized tires (Dunlop DT-1) and steeper fork geometry promote agile, responsive handling on city streets.

The S2 Alpinista positions itself as a hybrid between a supermoto and a tourer. With its 17-inch wheels, shorter wheelbase, and lower seat height (805 mm), it offers balanced handling with increased everyday practicalityespecially for riders of shorter stature or those carrying a passenger. Accessories for luggage transport emphasize its touring capabilities.

The S2 Mulholland, on the other hand, targets riders seeking a cruiser-like riding experience in a modern package. Its relaxed geometry, upright seating position, and intentional use of sustainable materials give it a unique character. All three models share a direct, gearless drive, comprehensive assist systems, and connected features. However, by diversifying its lineup, LiveWire can successfully reach different target audiences. All models are available for test rides at your nearest LiveWire dealer.
