The BMW R12 is more than just a stylish cruiser. It offers comfort, power and surprising agility - a bike to love for long journeys and short trips alike.

Powerful boxer engine

Lots of charisma but still smooth throttle response

Comfortable but low seating position

Agile handling despite cruiser design

Excellent brakes

Good lean angle-dependent traction control

High-quality cornering ABS

Comfortable riding on long lengths

Great features available

Classic design with a modern touch

Stable road holding

Good feedback even on slippery surfaces

Uncomfortable suspension on poor roads

Footrests quickly touch the ground when riding sporty

Relatively high clutch effort

Little travel limits universal character somewhat

BMW F 900 XR 2025

BMW F 900 XR 2025

A bike in this performance class probably couldn't be more accessible. The XR waggles playfully through the bends and immediately inspires confidence in the saddle. Even lengthy touring is easy and you always get out of the saddle feeling relaxed. However, the sporty look of the BMW also awakens a desire for some thrills. However, the engine cannot quite fulfil this desire. The engine, transmission and quickshifter are a little too tame overall and could do with a little more sportiness.

Clean engine reponsiveness

very easy to ride

cool looks, great display

good brakes

easy handling

stable ride feel

great connectivity

maximum lean angle

well-tuned ABS

easy to manoeuvre

Hard seat

somewhat doughy transmission with tough quickshifter

engine could use more pepper
