In summary, the new CB500F still fully lives up to the motto "playful and effortless". Thanks to modifications in the intake and exhaust area, the engine now delivers 4% more in the rev range between 3,000 and 7,000 revs, which should be positively noticeable in the less fast but all the more important everyday operation. The other innovations such as the anti-hopping clutch, LCD display with gear indicator and the proud handlebars make life even easier for two-wheeled beginners. In my opinion, there is no need for traction control on A2 machines. On the contrary, I think it can't hurt to learn how to use the right hand yourself at the beginning. The CB500F is indeed ideally suited for precisely this beginning. And experienced riders could also be truly thrilled by its smoothness. Especially when the road goes downhill.
Suzuki DR-Z4SM 2025
With its 398cc single cylinder and geometry, the Suzuki DR-Z4SM provides plenty of riding pleasure. Easy handling, height agility, decent acceleration. It is a real fun bike, especially in winding areas, on short distances or in city traffic. With the 8.7-litre tank, it can theoretically cover 256 km, but a stress-free 200 km to the next stop is always realistic. Yet there are points of criticism. At 9,699 euros in Germany and 9,990 euros in Austria, it is priced in the premium segment. At this price, we would have expected more: more power, sixth gear, quickshifter, adjustable levers or a more comfortable seat. The bottom line is that the DR-Z4SM is a stylish, agile A2 supermoto with reasonable maintenance intervals, which is great fun in the city and on the track, but still has air at high rpms in terms of price-performance ratio.
