Ducati Multistrada 1200 S 2015

The new Ducati Multistrada 1200 S is a thoroughly successful new edition of the extra-sporty touring enduro. The weaknesses of the predecessor were obviously analysed in detail and corrected: thanks to the DVT system, the engine now also works harmoniously in the lower rev range and the seating position is now also more suitable for comfort-oriented riders. The electronics have been massively upgraded; no other touring enduro is so comprehensively equipped. Starting with the many adjustable modes for power delivery and suspension, the brakes and cornering ABS are also of the highest standard. Although the "normal" Multisrtrada 1200 does without some electronic gimmicks, it is also cheaper and does not ride any worse overall.

Anyone who has always been annoyed that the Ducati Multistrada 1200 is so much, not to say only, designed for on-road use without any off-road ambitions can now finally breathe a sigh of relief - the Multistrada 1200 Enduro actually cuts a good figure off-road. Longer suspension travel, a higher handlebar, twin-sided swingarm and fine-tuning of the electronics allow the bike to take on rougher terrain despite weighing 254 kilos ready to ride. The huge 30-litre tank also allows a range of up to 450 kilometres - good conditions for a round-the-world trip. What is particularly surprising and pleasing is that such a universal talent does not necessarily have to look clunky and rugged, but can be as pretty as the Mulitstrada 1200 Enduro.
