Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT 2023

Suzuki V-Strom 650 XT 2023

The V-Strom 650 XT may be getting on a bit, but it's still a good bike. Especially if you don't need a colour display and don't intend to leave the paved road. The 650 is an easy motorbike to ride and is hardly ever out of its depth. What's more, this model has already proven itself a zillion times over, which underlines its durability and longevity.

Simple, uncomplicated bike

proven technology

good price/performance ratio

Design and equipment are a bit outdated

very limited off-road capability

Yamaha MT-09 2024

Yamaha MT-09 2024

Yes, Yamaha has produced a really leiwandes bike. All the criticisms of its predecessor have been successfully revised without neutering the wild and playful nature of the MT-09. The fourth generation is more mature, more precise and more polished, rides more neutrally and is more stable without losing its light-footedness. A marvellous bike that currently offers an almost unbeatable price-performance ratio thanks to many detail improvements and has now even become really pretty. The Yamaha dealers won't be able to save themselves from orders after test rides. Let's hope that availability is guaranteed, because the new MT-09 is the definition of the word "direct hit"!

Powerful acceleration in every situation / potent engine

aggressive but not too loud sound

good ergonomics for good feedback and confidence

lavish basic features

precise chassis with good everyday tuning

beautiful display

good workmanship

agile and playful handling

versatile three-cylinder engine

good stability

modern electronics package

Fiddly indicator function

seat comfort in the crotch area could be improved

controls less intuitive than on some competitors

polarised front design
