The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 2019 and the Triumph Street Twin 2019 are both naked bikes with similar engine types and drive trains. However, there are several key differences between the two models.

In terms of engine power, the Triumph Street Twin 2019 has a clear advantage with 65 HP compared to the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650's 47 HP. The Street Twin also boasts a higher torque of 80 Nm, while the Interceptor has 52 Nm. This means that the Street Twin offers more power and acceleration, making it a more exciting ride.

Both bikes have fuel injection systems and two cylinders, but the Interceptor has a larger displacement of 648 ccm compared to the Street Twin's 900 ccm. This means that the Street Twin has a larger engine and potentially more overall power.

In terms of cooling, the Interceptor uses an oil-air cooling system, while the Street Twin has liquid cooling. Liquid cooling is generally considered more efficient and effective at keeping the engine at an optimal temperature, especially during long rides or in hot weather.

In terms of strengths, the Interceptor has an agile and refined powerplant, a comfortable seating position, stable handling, and good brakes. It also has a classic and old school look with round instruments, and it is reasonably priced. On the other hand, the Street Twin has a powerful engine with lots of torque, a potent chassis, strong brakes, and a cool modern look. It also offers modern safety features and a large range of accessories.

In terms of weaknesses, the Interceptor's ABS may not be as sensitive as desired, and it lacks electronic features that some riders may prefer. The Street Twin, on the other hand, may be considered too modern for the retro segment.

The Interceptor offers a classic and affordable option with a comfortable ride, while the Street Twin provides a more powerful and modern experience with additional safety features. Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 2019

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 2019

While the Continental GT 650 is not a completely new model visually (there is already the Conti GT 535), an Interceptor 650 with a two-cylinder engine is now coming onto the market for the first time in almost 50 years. The styling therefore skilfully reflects the flair of the 1960s, while the technology is up to date. You won't find any electronic features, but the parallel twin-cylinder engine with 48 hp and 53 Newton metres of torque is surprisingly agile and the handling is very neutral. The Brembo brake is also pleasing with good dosing and the Pirelli tyres do not show any weaknesses. The seating position is very comfortable, so if you don't want to ride your Interceptor 650 so sportily, you can cruise comfortably - it can do that very well too.

Agile and refined powerplant

reasonable price.

ABS not quite sensitive

no electronic features - in case anyone needs them...

Triumph Street Twin 2019

Triumph Street Twin 2019

Except for its looks, the Triumph Street Twin is not as retro as it might appear at first glance. With its water-cooled engine, riding modes, traction control and sporty chassis components, it rather gives the impression of a naked bike disguised in retro design. But all these features, in combination with the powerful torque, become its advantage, as it does not have to hide from equally powered naked bikes at the motorbike show. The Best of Both Worlds, so to speak.

powerful engine

lots of torque

potent chassis

strong brakes

cool looks

modern safety features

large range of accessories

Perhaps already too modern for the retro segment
