BMW S 1000 XR 2021

BMW S 1000 XR 2021

The BMW S 1000 XR offers a pleasant touring motorbike on the basis of a super sports bike. Sounds like a compromise - but rides like a spot-on development. The motorbike is practical and mature. Wind and weather protection are very good, integration from the mobile phone is well tested and intuitive, and the engine is simply always a joy to ride. The chassis adapts well to the load condition, but it never becomes sensitive and really comfortable. The seat comfort is good, but the knee angle becomes a bit acute on long tours. Nevertheless, this is a great motorbike that you like to ride sportily, but also very far.

great rev-happy four-cylinder engine with a broad usable rev band

well-balanced vehicle - also with pillion passenger - thanks to electronic chassis with automatic recognition of load condition

good brakes

Knee angle on long tours a bit narrow for tall people

suspension damping not sensitive enough - no really comfortable setup possible

consumption high

Yamaha Tracer 9 GT 2023

Yamaha Tracer 9 GT 2023

The Yamaha Tracer 9 GT with its inline three is extremely agile and sporty to ride, the 119 hp already behave extremely potent in the naked bike derivative Yamaha MT-09, on the touring Tracer 9 GT hardly less. Of course, the engineers in Japan are no beginners when it comes to touring qualities, and the Tracer 9 GT spoils you with comfort thanks to the electronically adjustable chassis and a very comfortable riding position including good weather protection. All in all, it is still quite a touring sportswoman. The look is unique, only the split mini-displays are a matter of taste.

Powerful engine with great tuning

light and stable handling

electronically adjustable chassis

comprehensive electronics package

good wind protection

great passenger comfort.

somewhat rough clutch

displays need getting used to
