BMW S 1000 XR 2023

BMW S 1000 XR 2023

The BMW S 1000 XR offers a pleasant touring motorbike on the basis of a supersports bike. It sounds like a compromise - but it rides like a precisely targeted development. The bike is practical and mature. Wind and weather protection are very good, the integration of the mobile phone is well tested and intuitive and the engine is simply always a joy to ride. Although the suspension adapts well to the load, it is never sensitive or really comfortable. The seating comfort is good, but the knee angle becomes a little sharp when touring for long distances. Nevertheless, it's a great bike for sporty riding but also for long distances.

Riding modes change reponsiveness in practice

great revvy four-cylinder engine with a wide usable torque curve

well-balanced vehicle - even with a pillion - thanks to electronic suspension with automatic load condition detection

good brakes

Knee angle a bit tight for tall people when touring long distances

suspension does not dampen sensitively enough - no really comfortable setup possible

high fuel consumption

Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin Adventure Sports 2019

For many, the new Honda CRF1000L Africa Twin Adventure Sports is the true Africa Twin, which, with a larger tank, longer suspension travel and higher windshield, takes the long journey even more seriously than the normal Africa Twin already does. The chassis works like a litter, the seating position allows hundreds of kilometres at a stretch - according to Honda 525 on one tank of fuel. However, the agility and manoeuvrability of the normal Africa Twin suffer. With the more attractive appearance of the Adventure Sports, Honda has hit the bull's-eye again: there is currently no more beautiful adventure bike.
