BMW M 1000 RR, R and XR: 100 Years Nürburgring Edition

BMW M and BMW Motorrad are celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Nürburgring in 2027 with a joint special edition. For motorcyclists, three models take center stage: BMW M 1000 RR, BMW M 1000 R and BMW M 1000 XR. Each of them is limited worldwide to exactly 100 units.

The Nürburgring was opened on 18 June 1927. For the anniversary, BMW is launching a total of nine vehicles - six automobiles and three motorcycles. While the cars in some cases also receive technical special features, BMW Motorrad's anniversary edition focuses primarily on equipment, design and exclusivity. This means BMW Motorrad covers three different concepts at once: supersports, hyper naked and crossover. All three models share a common edition design and a clear Nürburgring signature.

The supersports part is taken on by the BMW M 1000 RR Edition 100 Years Nürburgring. For the anniversary version, the focus is less on a technical reinvention of the M RR than on its special equipment. The M Track Package is included as standard on the edition. Added to this are the historic Nürburgring Green paint finish and special anniversary graphics. Particularly eye-catching are the carbon wheels with accent stripes in Nürburgring Green. In addition, the M 1000 RR gets a black swingarm as well as a black subframe.

The painted fuel tank features a Nordschleife graphic. The airbox cover also carries the anniversary design plus an individual "one of 100" marking. This means that every machine immediately shows that it belongs to the 100 units built worldwide. The seat is also adapted. It comes in Alcantara look and features an embroidered "100".

Those who don't need fairings get served the same theme with a wide handlebar. The BMW M 1000 R Edition 100 Years Nürburgring forms the naked bike part of the anniversary trio. It follows the same recipe as the M RR: Nürburgring Green, M Track Package, carbon wheels with green accents, black subframe and black rear swingarm are all part of the equipment.

Here too the tank features the Nürburgring silhouette. The airbox cover carries the anniversary design and "one of 100" marking, while the seat in Alcantara look with the embroidered "100" continues the edition character.

The third motorcycle stands out somewhat conceptually from the rest. The BMW M 1000 XR Edition 100 Years Nürburgring, after all, doesn't represent a pure supersports or naked bike approach, but rather the crossover concept of the M range. For the anniversary edition, this different intended use plays no role in the design. The M 1000 XR gets the same central identifying features: historic Nürburgring Green, anniversary graphics, M Track Package, carbon wheels with green accent stripes as well as black chassis components.

Tank, airbox cover and seat also follow the shared edition scheme. And here too the decisive number applies: 100 units worldwide.

BMW Motorrad doesn't stop at paint and graphics. The M Track Package is part of the standard edition equipment on all three motorcycle models. In addition, the BMW M 1000 RR and BMW M 1000 R receive an M Cover Kit. The scope of delivery of the anniversary models also includes an exclusive M motorcycle rug with the 100 Years Nürburgring logo as well as a rear paddock stand.

Besides the BMW M 1000 RR, BMW M 1000 R and BMW M 1000 XR, six automobiles also belong to the "100 Years Nürburgring" edition. BMW is offering the BMW M2, the BMW M3 sedan, the BMW M3 Touring, the BMW M4 Coupé, the BMW M5 sedan and the BMW M5 Touring as special models. This means the anniversary concept extends across the entire BMW M world on two and four wheels.
