With the Xcore Topcase 40, Hepco & Becker continues to expand its Xcore family. The new topcase is designed to work particularly well with the already available Xcore side cases and combines high-impact-resistant plastic elements with bolted aluminium. It is offered in two colour variants.

Hepco & Becker Xcore Topcase 40 Overview

The new Xcore Topcase provides 40 litres of storage space. According to Hepco & Becker, this is enough for a full-face helmet and additional luggage, among other things. The external dimensions are 30 x 44 x 37 centimetres, and the weight is 3.7 kilograms.

Xcore Combines Plastic and Aluminium

In terms of construction, Hepco & Becker relies on a combination of different materials. High-strength plastic elements are combined with a bolted aluminium panel featuring the Xcore embossing. According to the manufacturer, this construction is intended to provide stability and resilience even under intensive use. These properties cannot be independently assessed without a hands-on product test. For practical use, the Xcore Topcase features two integrated, fold-away carry handles. A matching base mat is already included as standard.

40 Litres of Space for Helmet and Travel Luggage

With a volume of 40 litres, the Xcore Topcase offers space for a full-face helmet as well as additional luggage. This positions the new model as a solution for a variety of applications – from the daily commute to longer bike tours. The combination of a lockable storage compartment and quick removal via the Smartrack system is intended to make flexible use particularly straightforward. Riders who want to use their bike in everyday life without a case can remove the topcase and refit it when needed. For longer tours, the Xcore Topcase can also be combined with the visually matched Xcore side cases. This allows the luggage volume to be expanded depending on the planned use.

Smartrack Handles the Mounting

A key new feature is the connection to the Hepco & Becker Smartrack system. The Xcore Topcase 40 was explicitly developed for use with Smartracks and is, according to the manufacturer, exclusively compatible with them. The topcase is slid onto the carrier system via an integrated quick-release mechanism and then locked in place. This is intended to allow the case to be quickly attached to and removed from the bike without complex installation work. This can be particularly useful when the bike is used alternately with and without a topcase – for example, when switching between daily use and longer tours. However, the vehicle-specific selection of the Smartrack remains important. Hepco & Becker offers its carriers tailored to individual bike models. Before purchasing, it must therefore be checked whether a compatible Smartrack is available for the respective bike.

Weather Protection for Touring and Daily Use

Hepco & Becker also places a clear emphasis on protecting the luggage. A special lid seal is intended to make the Xcore Topcase 100 percent dust- and waterproof. Rain, spray water and dirt are thus kept away from the contents. This construction is designed to make the topcase suitable for both daily use and longer tours in changing weather conditions.

Xcore Topcase and Side Cases as a Combined Luggage System

The new topcase has been visually coordinated with the Xcore side cases for C-Bow carriers. Hepco & Becker relies on a similar design language, aluminium elements and the Xcore styling typical of the range. Anyone who needs more than the 40 litres of the topcase can expand the luggage system with side cases accordingly. Hepco & Becker also offers the Xcore side case set for C-Bow carriers in Black/Silver and Black. Both variants are currently listed at 575 euros each.

With the side cases too, the vehicle-specific carrier solution must be taken into account. The Xcore side case set is intended for use with the C-Bow carrier.

Accessories for the Xcore Topcase 40

The topcase itself can be supplemented with several optional components. Hepco & Becker offers a luggage rack, a backrest pad and an inner bag for this purpose.

The luggage rack creates an additional option for carrying luggage outside the actual case volume. The backrest pad supplements the topcase for pillion use, while the inner bag can be removed separately from the case.

For added convenience, Hepco & Becker offers a matching inner bag for the Xcore Topcase 40, which can be removed separately from the topcase

One Lock for Topcase and Mounting

The locking system has also been newly designed for the Xcore Topcase. Hepco & Becker describes a locking mechanism with just one lock, which secures both the connection to the carrier and the topcase itself. In addition, a version with a matching lock to the Xcore side cases is available. This is intended to make removing the topcase after parking the bike just as straightforward as fitting it to the Smartrack in the first place.

Xcore Topcase 40 Expands the Hepco & Becker Luggage Range

With the Xcore Topcase 40, Hepco & Becker adds a new 40-litre solution for the Smartrack system to its luggage range. Two colour variants, a weight of 3.7 kilograms, bolted aluminium and plastic elements, as well as the optional addition of a rack, backrest pad and inner bag, form the key highlights of the new model. Particularly important is the combination with the carrier system: the Xcore Topcase 40 is exclusively intended for Hepco & Becker Smartracks. Anyone wishing to use the topcase on their own bike should therefore first check via the vehicle-specific selection whether a corresponding Smartrack is available. Those who need additional storage space can also supplement the Xcore solution with the matching side cases for C-Bow carriers. This allows the luggage system to be built up depending on the bike and intended use – from a single 40-litre topcase through to a combination with side cases. Further information, variants and accessories for the Xcore Topcase 40 can be found directly on the Hepco & Becker website.
