Sun, shade, tree-lined avenues, tunnels or dusk: riders know the problem all too well. While light conditions change constantly, you're often left with a choice between a clear visor or a permanently tinted one that has to be flipped open and closed by hand time and again. Even modern photochromic solutions usually need many seconds, or even minutes, to fully adapt to new light conditions.
With the photochromic IRID "instant" visors, Shark aims to solve this problem once and for all. The patented IRID technology uses an electronically controlled liquid crystal film, powered by an integrated solar panel, that adjusts the tint in less than a second when you roll out of a tunnel straight into blazing daylight. The system runs without a battery, is waterproof, features an integrated anti-fog solution and requires no additional Pinlock insert.
Using the Shark Aeron, we put the potential of this new electrochromic visor technology to the test in the 1000PS Performance Check.
