The Ducati dry clutch is back! Collezione 100 special models

Ducati is using the MotoGP weekend at Mugello as the setting to unveil the new Collezione 100. To mark the 100th anniversary of the brand from Borgo Panigale, ten special models are being created in a strictly limited run. Each model will be produced only 100 times and pays tribute to a historic Ducati motorcycle or a significant moment in the company's history.

According to Ducati, each of the ten bikes in the Collezione 100 will be individualized through special components, historic liveries and exclusive materials. Every machine gets an Alcantara or leather seat with an embroidered Ducati 100 logo, along with special accents in the color "Bronzo Centenario". This bronze color appears on brake calipers, fuel cap rings, and the numbered plaques on the fork bridges.

In addition, each bike comes with its own bike stand, a cover, a certificate of authenticity, and two numbered art prints by Italian artist Ugo Nespolo. The V4 models are also delivered in special wooden crates. As is customary for Ducati special editions, the manufacturer also announces a special start-up procedure when switching on the ignition.

The Panigale V4 S 100 visually references the Ducati 750 Imola Desmo from 1972. That bike won the first edition of the legendary Imola 200 race with Paul Smart and Bruno Spaggiari at the controls. Ducati describes this victory as one of the most important moments in its own motorsport history.

Technically, the Panigale V4 S 100 features a dry clutch, a titanium and carbon Akrapovič exhaust system, and numerous carbon parts. Added to that are an open clutch cover, a racing fuel cap, and kits for removing the mirrors and license plate holder for track use.

The new Panigale V2 S 100 also references a historic Ducati race bike. The livery is based on the 750 Super Sport Desmo, with which Franco Uncini won the Italian championship in 1975. Ducati combines yellow base colors with brown-red details that were also used on engines from Borgo Panigale at the time.

Particularly interesting: the Panigale V2 S 100 becomes the first model in the new Ducati V2 family to receive a purpose-developed dry clutch. The package is rounded off with a steering damper, machined handlebar clip-ons and numerous bronze details.

The Streetfighter V4 S 100 wears a livery in the style of the Ducati 900 Sport Desmo Darmah from 1979. Ducati draws on the black-and-gold look that was popular in the motorsport world at the time. Even the distinctive tiger head from the historic Darmah reappears on the modern special edition - among other places on the tail section and in the matching apparel collection.

Here too, Ducati fits a dry clutch, carbon parts and racing components for track-day use. The whole package comes across as a modern power naked bike with a clear connection to Ducati history.

The Monster 100 references the Monster S4Rs Tricolore from 2008. According to Ducati, that model represented a kind of final special edition of the first Monster generation, which was produced from 1993 to 2008.

The anniversary version gets a dry clutch with a carbon cover, an Alcantara seat and a single-seat tail design thanks to special fairing parts. Bronze details and numbered plaques are, of course, present here as well.

The XDiavel V4 100 references a special Ducati 750 Super Sport from 1977, known as the "California Hot Rod". Ducati thereby draws on the American-influenced custom style of that era and combines it with the modern cruiser interpretation of the XDiavel V4.

As with the other models in the Collezione 100, the XDiavel also gets special bronze details, a numbered plaque and exclusive materials. The combination of a long, low cruiser stance with a historic Ducati livery should appeal above all to fans of exceptional Ducati models.

With the Diavel V4 RS 100, Ducati reinterprets one of the brand's most modern muscle bikes as a collector's model. The special livery is based on a historic Ducati design from the company's history and is meant to underline the combination of Italian design and powerful presence.

The Diavel also receives exclusive Collezione 100 components such as special plaques, bronze details and individualized bolt-on parts. This makes the already striking power-cruiser concept noticeably more extroverted still.

The Multistrada V4 S 100 is meant to reference a historic Dakar race bike from the brand. Ducati combines the modern adventure bike technology of the Multistrada with classic rally colors from the manufacturer's off-road history.

Befitting its role as the anniversary series' adventure bike, Ducati combines exclusive equipment with special design features of the Collezione 100. Bronze accents, numbered elements and special seat materials are, of course, present here too.

The Ducati Scrambler 100 is also part of the anniversary series. Ducati draws on historic Scrambler models from the brand and combines classic coloring with the modern technology of the current Scrambler generation, specifically using a Scrambler Nightshift as its base.

The special edition is meant to emphasize above all the relaxed lifestyle character of the Ducati Scrambler. At the same time, limited details and numbered components ensure collector's value within the Collezione 100.

With the DesertX Rally 100, Ducati reinterprets the modern adventure bike in the style of the brand's classic desert rally motorcycles. The livery and equipment are meant to recall Ducati's off-road history.

Fitting its adventure approach, Ducati combines rugged technology with exclusive anniversary details. The DesertX Rally 100 should appeal above all to adventure bike fans and Dakar enthusiasts.

The unveiling of the Ducati Collezione 100 took place right on the start-finish straight at Mugello. Alongside the special models, Ducati also displayed matching helmets and jackets in the respective design of each bike. In addition, Carrera and Piquadro presented special eyewear and luggage collections to accompany the anniversary series.

Particularly exciting: the Ducati Lenovo Team's Desmosedici GP bikes are also set to race at the Mugello GP with a special livery in the style of the Collezione 100. Ducati is thereby uniting motorsport, history and design in a single joint appearance.

The public will get their first look at the Ducati Collezione 100 at the World Ducati Week in early July. After that, the special models will travel on to the Goodwood Festival of Speed, before later being displayed in museums in the Bologna region.
