New accessory system brings more order and flexibility

The BMW R 1300 GS and the R 1300 GS Adventure are currently among the most important adventure bikes on the market. Especially on long tours, however, it's not just the bike itself that determines comfort and everyday usability, but also the luggage system. Wunderlich is therefore expanding its accessory programme for the original BMW aluminium panniers with numerous new components.

At the heart of it is a modular system of inner bags, divider nets, lid bags, rack solutions and protective components. According to Wunderlich, the goal is better organisation of storage space as well as more comfort and flexibility while travelling.

The pannier becomes a system

Wunderlich describes the new accessory concept as a "second layer" for the BMW aluminium panniers of the R 1300 GS and R 1300 GS Adventure. Instead of loosely packed luggage, the accessory specialist relies on structured interior organisation. Precisely fitted inner bags and divider nets are meant to create order and make it easier to access equipment on the road. Especially on long trips, a well-organised pannier system can save an enormous amount of time and nerves. Anyone who regularly travels on adventure bikes knows the problem: tools, cables, rain gear or documents often disappear somewhere in the luggage system. This is exactly where Wunderlich comes in.

BMW R 1300 GS remains the benchmark of the adventure bike class

Demand for accessories for large adventure bikes remains enormous. The BMW R 1300 GS is currently the most-registered motorcycle in Germany. According to Motorrad-Markt aktuell 2026, 970 units were newly registered in the first two months of the year alone. It's no wonder, then, that accessory solutions for luggage, travel and organisation continue to boom. Why the big GS remains one of the most popular adventure bikes in Europe, and how it performs both in everyday use and on tour, is shown in our detailed 1000PS test report on the BMW R 1300 GS.

TOPLOADER inner bags aim to create order

The new TOPLOADER inner bags for the original BMW panniers of the R 1300 GS and GS Adventure look particularly practical. According to Wunderlich, the bags feature:

  • large main compartments
  • inner and outer pockets
  • ergonomic double zippers
  • shoulder strap and carry handle

This is meant to make them easy to use even on the road, without having to remove the bag completely from the pannier. The inner bags are supplied as a set and fit both the left and right original panniers.

The new TOPBAG pannier lid bags create additional storage space. They are mounted directly on the aluminium panniers and, according to Wunderlich, offer a variable volume of 12 to 18 litres. The bags are designed to:

  • be water-repellent
  • remain stable at high speeds
  • be quick to mount
  • protect the pannier's finish

A waterproof inner bag is also included in the scope of delivery. Adventure riders in particular often use such add-on solutions for items that need to be quickly accessible on the road.

Adventure racks expand transport options

The new Wunderlich racks for side panniers and top case are aimed even more squarely at long-distance travel and off-road adventures. The aluminium racks make use of free outer surfaces on the BMW panniers and create additional mounting options for dry bags, tool bags, extra equipment and reserve fuel canisters. According to Wunderlich, the so-called tool design in adventure look integrates visually with the BMW GS models. At the same time, the racks are meant to provide additional protection for the panniers. To go with them, Wunderlich also offers tie-down straps as well as the compact FuelFriend canister with a one-litre volume.

Protection and storage for the BMW aluminium panniers

Alongside transport and organisation, Wunderlich is also expanding its range with protection and storage solutions. These include:

  • PremiumShield paint protection films
  • Wall mounts for BMW aluminium panniers
  • Carry handles for comfortable transport

According to Wunderlich, the protective film is based on a high-tech film originally developed for aviation applications and is designed to protect the sensitive aluminium panniers from scratches and signs of wear. The wall mount is aimed primarily at riders who want to store their panniers safely and space-savingly in a garage or basement.

Accessory market for adventure bikes keeps growing

Adventure bikes are increasingly developing into modular travel platforms. Owners of large adventure bikes in particular frequently invest in individual luggage and comfort solutions to optimally adapt their bikes for tours and long-distance travel. Wunderlich is consistently expanding this segment with the new accessory programme. More order, more storage space and more functionality – these are exactly the topics that keep becoming more important for modern adventure riders.
