MOTOREX starts 2026 season with Dakar win and world title

Two major titles right at the start of the year: MOTOREX kicks off the 2026 motorsport season with strong results and moves closer to the mark of 200 world championships.

Swiss lubricant specialist MOTOREX has started the 2026 motorsport year with remarkable results. Two major titles were already secured right at the start of the season. Luciano Benavides of Red Bull KTM Factory Racing won the Dakar Rally, while Billy Bolt of the Husqvarna Factory Racing Team claimed the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship. With these successes, the number of championship titles won with MOTOREX support rises to 191 titles worldwide.

Numerous race teams and riders from various on- and off-road disciplines continue to rely on the company's #RaceProven products, which is said to lay the groundwork for further success in the 2026 motorsport year.

The season opener in MotoGP also went well from MOTOREX's perspective. The new partnership with the Red Bull KTM MotoGP Team began with a win in the season's first sprint race by Pedro Acosta. In the following Grand Prix, Acosta finished second, taking the overall championship lead after the first round - a first for him, KTM and MOTOREX.

There were also further podium finishes in the junior classes:

• Daniel Holgado of the CFMOTO Aspar Team finished third in Moto2
• Teammate Máximo Quiles took second place in Moto3

The Supersport World Championship also had a strong start. Philipp Öttl of the Feel Racing Team began the new season in Australia with a second place.

In the USA, Eli Tomac, the new signing at Red Bull KTM, is attracting attention. The American has won half of the AMA Supercross races held so far and currently sits second in the overall standings. Most recently, Tomac won the Daytona Supercross, extending his personal record at this race to eight victories. With nine rounds remaining, his deficit to the leader is just one point.

This weekend, the FIM Motocross World Championship 2026 kicks off in Argentina. In the MXGP class, Romain Febvre of the Kawasaki Racing Team lines up as the defending champion. In the MX2 category, Simon Laengenfelder of Red Bull KTM aims to defend his title. Both teams continue to rely on MOTOREX products.

One of the strongest challengers in MXGP is considered to be Lucas Coenen of Red Bull KTM, who finished the 2025 season as vice champion. In the MX2 class, the following riders are among those in focus:

• Sacha Coenen (Red Bull KTM)
• Liam Everts (Husqvarna Factory Racing)
• Mathis Valin (Kawasaki Racing Team)
• Cas Valk (TM Moto CRD Motorsport)

MOTOREX is also continuing to expand its presence in enduro sport. The FIM EnduroGP World Championship starts in April in Italy. Defending champion Josep Garcia of Red Bull KTM will try to extend his current tally of seven world titles. Going forward he will also be supported by teammate Andrea Verona. Other strong rivals in the fight for the EnduroGP crown are Zach Pichon (TM Boano Factory) and Hamish Macdonald (Sherco Racing Factory).

The series' season finale will traditionally take place at the FIM 6DAYS Enduro of Nations in Portugal, an event that MOTOREX says it particularly supports.

A new partnership has also been formed with Stark Future. The two Stark riders Eddie Karlsson and Toby Martyn currently sit within the top five of the overall standings in the FIM SuperEnduro World Championship. For the 2026 season, the team also plans to compete in the EnduroGP and Hard Enduro series. Karlsson and Martyn have already announced that they will also take part in the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo.

The FIM Hard Enduro World Championship also begins in April. Defending champion Manuel Lettenbichler, MOTOREX ambassador and rider for the Red Bull KTM Team, is once again considered the favourite. His goal: a fifth consecutive title. The most important rivals are considered to be Billy Bolt (Husqvarna) and Teodor Kabakchiev (Sherco Racing Factory).

In addition to the major championships, MOTOREX is also involved in many other motorsport series. At the 2026 Dakar Rally, Benji Melot won the so-called "Malle Moto" category, in which participants maintain their own motorcycles. Melot completed the rally on his KTM after 13 race days and nearly 56 hours of riding time without technical issues. Other partnerships include:

• Team Bolliger in the FIM Endurance World Championship
• TripleM Ducati Frankfurt in the EURO MOTO series
• several riders in SpeedwayGP

MOTOREX is also active outside of professional racing. This autumn, the company will once again hold the off-road event Dirt Mania, in which motorcyclists from across Europe can take part. Participants receive coaching from brand ambassadors and professional riders, which, according to the organiser, makes the event more popular every year.

With numerous partner teams, riders and reigning champions, MOTOREX says it is looking forward to the 2026 racing season with confidence.
