Touratech crash bar for Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports

With a new fairing crash bar, Touratech is expanding its accessory range for the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports. The stainless steel construction is designed to protect the fairing, tank and radiator while also opening up new possibilities for mounting accessories.

Especially on a large adventure bike like the Africa Twin Adventure Sports, protective components are an important topic - particularly when occasional excursions onto gravel roads are on the agenda alongside long road tours.

The Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports is considered a versatile adventure bike with a focus on comfortable long-distance riding. At the same time, however, it is also suitable for off-road excursions. In the stock configuration, the radiator and fairing remain largely unprotected in the event of a tip-over.

This is where the newly developed Touratech fairing crash bar for the model generation from 2024 onward comes in. The construction generously wraps around the sensitive areas surrounding the tank, side fairing and radiator, and is designed to absorb a large portion of the impact forces in the event of a crash. According to the manufacturer, the remaining energy is channeled into the frame via defined mounting points to reduce damage to the vehicle.

As such, the accessory is aimed at both adventure riders and touring riders who want to give their adventure bike additional protection.

The multi-part protector consists of stainless steel tubes with a diameter of 25 x 2 millimeters. An additional cross tube measuring 18 x 2 millimeters connects the two sides of the crash bar and is intended to provide additional rigidity.

According to Touratech, modern CNC bending machines are used in production. This allows the construction to follow the silhouette of the Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports exactly. The welds are made using current welding robotics and are intended to ensure both high strength and a clean appearance.

The stainless steel surface is electropolished, giving it a silky glossy finish. Alternatively, Touratech also offers a black powder-coated variant.

A special detail of the Touratech fairing crash bar is the so-called Tech-Plate. This is a 3-millimeter-thick plate made of black anodized aluminum that is bolted between the tube segments.

The plate features several slots for routing straps through. This allows it to be used as a mounting surface for accessories - for example, for bags, action cameras or additional mounts. This means the crash bar not only extends the protective area of the bike, but also the options for customization.

The Touratech stainless steel fairing crash bar for the Honda CRF1100L Africa Twin Adventure Sports (from model year 2024) is available in two versions:
