With the 450MT and 800MT models, CFMOTO has launched two technically mature and design-strong adventure bikes onto the market. While the 450MT with 42 hp represents an attractive option for the A2 class, the 800MT as the bigger sister aims to challenge established adventure touring bikes like the Yamaha Ténéré 700 or BMW F900GS. According to Touratech, the stock suspensions offer a good compromise between daily use and light off-road riding, but reach their limits under high payload or sporty off-road use. Extreme Shock – the premium upgrade
The Extreme shock is available for both models and, according to the manufacturer, was designed for the toughest use. Robust components - from the piston rod through the shock eyes to the seals - are meant to ensure maximum load capacity. Thanks to an external reservoir, a large oil volume is available, which enables consistent performance even during long off-road stages through improved cooling. In addition, according to Touratech, the shock responds finely to bumps. Both spring preload and rebound damping can be individually adjusted. The compression damping can even be set separately for high- and lowspeed.
Optional: 25-millimeter lowering
For the CFMOTO 800MT, the Extreme shock is also available in a version for lowering by 25 millimeters. To match, Touratech Suspension offers progressive fork springs in standard and lowered versions. This combination is meant to particularly benefit shorter riders or tours with high payload.

Progressive replacement springs – suspension tuning on a budget
Anyone looking for an affordable but effective upgrade can turn to the progressive replacement springs. These improve responsiveness and increase reserves at the end of the travel - both at the fork and at the shock. They too are available in standard length or with lowering.
