Visually, the KTM 990 Duke R 2025 echoes its predecessors, particularly the immediate predecessor, the KTM 890 Duke R, and even more so, the color scheme and orange accents of the second-generation 990 SUPER Duke R models (2011-2013). The distinctive design is completed by a glossy, powder-coated "Electronic Orange" frame, white trim lines, and matte black details. Almost as prominent as on its big sister, the KTM 1390 Super Duke R, the large black-and-orange "R" proudly adorns the tank. The pillion seat cover comes as standard, but those who want a passenger seat (and the necessary footpegs) on the 990 Duke R, which is also approved for two-up riding, will have to check out the PowerParts. The orange wheels are also borrowed from the 1390 model, completing the bike's design.
The seat height and ground clearance of the R variant have each increased by 15 mm to 840 mm and 210 mm respectively, and according to KTM, this enhances the lean angle clearance of the 990 Duke R by 3 degrees compared to its standard sibling.
