Fantic Caballero 500 Supermoto 2027 unveiled with 45 hp
Fully adjustable FRS suspension and 200 mm of travel
High mudguard, spoked wheels and a single built for the twisties: Fantic adds a supermoto alongside the Caballero 500. For model year 2027, it combines the familiar silhouette with new FRS suspension and an electronics package including cornering ABS.
Converting off-road bikes for the tarmac: with the Caballero 500 Supermoto unveiled at EICMA 2026, Fantic taps into the very origins of the supermoto concept. The manufacturer calls it the most road-oriented Caballero to date. It keeps its off-road ties with a high front mudguard, spoked wheels and long suspension travel. Fantic sees its natural habitat in city traffic and on winding mountain roads. The Caballero's slim design language remains intact.
Minarelli single with 45 hp and ride-by-wire
At its heart sits the MM460 from Motori Minarelli, a liquid-cooled four-stroke single with 463 cc, four valves and DOHC valve train. According to the manufacturer, it delivers 45 hp at 8,000 rpm and 42.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm and complies with Euro 5+. Bore and stroke measure 96 and 64 mm respectively. Fantic fits a new, lighter and more capable piston. The engine is designed to combine strong pull at low and mid revs with a revvy top end. The electronic fuel injection uses a 46 mm throttle body and ride-by-wire. Add to that a six-speed gearbox, a multi-plate oil-bath clutch with anti-hopping function and a dual Arrow exhaust system.
New FRS suspension with plenty of adjustment
On the suspension front, Fantic brings in its new Fantic Racing Suspension line, conceived, engineered and developed entirely in-house. The Caballero 500 Supermoto gets the fully adjustable 43 mm TRAIL43 upside-down fork and the TRAIL14 shock. Front and rear each offer 200 mm of suspension travel. The fork features 22 clicks each of compression and rebound adjustment as well as adjustable preload. The shock offers 24 clicks of compression, three turns of high-speed compression, 16 clicks of rebound and adjustable preload. According to Fantic, the suspension should soak up bumps while delivering precision and stability during sporty road riding.
The foundation is a steel central-tube frame, complemented by an aluminium swingarm with variable cross-section and progressive linkage. For the wheels, Fantic specifies a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear combination. The spoked wheels feature aluminium rims and Metzeler Tourance Next 2 tyres. Up front, a floating 320 mm disc handles braking, with a 230 mm disc at the rear. Fantic quotes the weight at 150 kg without fuel. The tank holds twelve litres, the wheelbase measures 1,455 mm and the overall length 2,194 mm.
Cornering ABS, traction control and two riding modes
The electronics include an inertial measurement unit, switchable cornering ABS and traction control. The two riding modes, Street and All Terrain, provide corresponding configurations and specific engine maps. The instruments use an LCD bonded interface. Headlight, tail light and front and rear indicators are all LED. Fantic pairs the features with slim side panels and what the manufacturer describes as a natural riding position for city and mountain roads. The seat height is 860 mm. That's a concrete figure worth keeping in mind when you try one on for size.
Factory White and market launch in April 2027
Visually, the Caballero remains unmistakable with its clean lines and round full-LED headlight featuring the Fantic signature. The high front mudguard adds the supermoto touch. The livery is Factory White: white, red and blue pick up the brand's historic colours and the look of the Fantic Factory Racing bikes from the 2026 world championship season. The Caballero 500 Supermoto is set to arrive at Fantic dealers from April 2027. The announced retail price for Italy is 7,290 euros including VAT.
