Triumph TF 250-E and TF 450-E 2027: Fine-tuned for off-road
New KYB suspension meets revised drivetrain
Tool-free suspension tweaking and a revised clutch for off-road duty: Triumph sharpens its two sport enduros for 2027. Add to that new shift components and a black outfit. What sets the updates of the 250 and 450 apart?
Triumph's enduro programme has a full competition season under its belt. For the 2026 EnduroGP World Championship, the manufacturer reports 15 wins and 62 podium finishes for its factory and supported riders. That experience now flows into the TF 250-E and TF 450-E for the 2027 model year. The platform, developed together with enduro world champions Paul Edmondson and Iván Cervantes, receives targeted changes to suspension, drivetrain and controls. According to product chief Steve Sargent, these are intended to give riders more control and confidence while retaining the competition-proven performance.
Triumph TF 250-E 2027: Updates right down to the gearshift
The TF 250-E sticks with its 249.9 cc four-stroke single with double overhead camshafts. Triumph quotes 42.3 hp and 27.8 Nm. Bore is 78 mm, stroke 52.3 mm, compression ratio 14.4:1. For 2027 it gains a new clutch pack including bearing, a steel shift star, an ergonomically revised gear lever and new valve guides. The engine calibration has also been adjusted. The aim is for the 250 to deliver its power in a linear, easily controllable way while remaining revvy. The enduro-specific six-speed gearbox is designed to cover both technical sections and faster stretches; the stated final drive ratio is 14/52.
Triumph TF 450-E 2027: Even more new shift components
Its bigger sibling relies on a 449.5 cc SOHC four-stroke single with 95 mm bore and 63.4 mm stroke. With a compression ratio of 12.8:1, Triumph quotes 59.2 hp and 48 Nm. Alongside a new clutch pack, clutch bearing and hydraulic hose, the TF 450-E gets a new shift star, detent lever and a new shift shaft, plus a revised gear lever. DLC-coated rocker arm shafts are meant to last longer, while the valve guides change in design and material. A new engine calibration is intended to improve rideability. Here too there are six gears, with a final drive ratio of 13/51. Both models feature a hydraulically actuated wet multi-plate clutch with integrated steel basket, a 44 mm Dellorto throttle body and a single silencer.
Triumph TF 250-E and TF 450-E: Tool-free KYB
Anyone wanting to tweak their setup has an easier time of it in 2027: both enduros receive the latest KYB suspension with revised spring and damping settings as well as tool-free adjusters. Up front is a 48 mm AOS steel-spring fork with adjustable compression and rebound and 300 mm of travel. The rear KYB piggyback shock offers 313 mm of travel, separate high- and low-speed compression adjustment and adjustable rebound. New fork guards round off the package. The TF 250-E also gets lightweight forged Neken triple clamps made from 7075-T6 aluminium. Their setup is intended to improve front-end behaviour. With the chassis, Triumph is targeting agility at low speeds and stability on fast sections.
Triumph TF 250-E and TF 450-E: Frame and wheels
Both bikes are based on an aluminium central-spine frame with twin downtubes. Through internal machining, Triumph aims to fine-tune wall thicknesses, weight and stiffness. Added to this are an aluminium swingarm with enduro-specific geometry and a forged and machined linkage. The combination is designed to deliver feedback, traction and controllable rear-wheel behaviour. D.I.D DirtStar rims sit on lightweight, machined 6000-series aluminium hubs. The front wheel measures 21 x 1.6 inches, the rear 18 x 2.15 inches. The Michelin enduro tyres come in 90/90-21 and 140/80-18 sizes. Brembo floating calipers work with Galfer brake discs, 260 mm in diameter at the front and 220 mm at the rear.
Triumph TF 250-E and TF 450-E: Electronics as standard
Traction control, launch control, quickshifter and two engine maps are standard on both models. Everything is managed by an Athena ECU with GET Power Assist. Those wanting additional maps and further adjustment options can choose the optional Wi-Fi tuning function. An hour meter and multi-function switch are also on board. For 2027 the visual difference from the previous look comes from all-black bodywork with new graphics. Triumph has also revised the oil level indicator. The LED lighting is designed to allow riding in poor light conditions. The changes are thus spread across chassis, drivetrain, controls and looks.
Triumph TF 250-E and TF 450-E: Rider contact points
A slim tank and narrow midsection are intended to provide freedom of movement. Contact with the bike is handled by ODI Half-Waffle lock-on grips, a Pyramid seat cover and a ProTaper ACF Carbon Core handlebar with adjustable mounts. The layout of handlebar, seat and footpegs is designed to reduce fatigue and make longer riding sessions easier. Triumph quotes a tank capacity of 8.3 litres for both models, and a wet weight of 114.2 kg for the TF 250-E and 116.7 kg for the TF 450-E.
Triumph lists the remaining dimensions jointly: 2,243 mm length, 836 mm width at the handlebar and 1,264 mm height. The wheelbase is 1,488 mm, the steering head angle 26.8 degrees and trail 113 mm. According to the manufacturer, ergonomics and frame tuning are tailored to enduro use. The weight figures are manufacturer values in ready-to-ride condition.
Triumph TF 250-E and TF 450-E: Lessons from racing
The development work is backed by concrete race results. Morgan Lesiardo finished 2026 as runner-up in the Enduro1 world championship. Leo Joyon took second overall on the TF 250-E in both the Junior World Championship and the Junior1 Enduro World Cup. At the 2026 6DAYS FIM Enduro of Nations, Triumph riders were represented in all three World Trophy podium teams, with Italy winning ahead of France and Sweden. Back in 2025, Jonny Walker claimed Triumph's first AMA EnduroCross title in the TF 450-E's debut season. In the 2026 SuperEnduro World Championship, race wins and several podiums were followed by second overall. Triumph cites this experience in the further development for 2027.
