2027 Husqvarna FC Factory Editions: new engine and chassis

New 250 engine and closed-cartridge fork for both

More than fresh race graphics: with the new Factory Editions, Husqvarna has revised the engines, chassis and features. The changes run deepest on the FC 250. The FC 450 also gets technical updates for 2027.

For the 2027 model year, Husqvarna is relaunching the FC 250 Factory Edition and FC 450 Factory Edition. Both mx bikes are built in limited numbers and offered worldwide. The focus is on a new engine for the 250 and a revised chassis concept for both displacement classes. On top of that comes an extensive package of racing features, ranging from the wheelset to the seat cover.

Husqvarna FC 250 Factory Edition: new DOHC engine

On the FC 250 Factory Edition, the overhaul starts at the very core. Husqvarna has developed the 250 cc DOHC engine with a completely new architecture, a higher compression ratio and a raised rev limit. An oval throttle body, an oval intake port and a cylinder head with a precision-machined combustion chamber are among the key technical features. Peak power is set to increase while power delivery remains precisely controllable. The balanced, confidence-inspiring riding feel, as the manufacturer describes it, is also set to be retained. The new engine generation sits slightly higher in the chassis to optimise anti-squat behaviour, i.e. the influence of the drivetrain on rear-end compression.

For 2027, the newly developed 250 cc DOHC engine sits slightly higher in the chassis.

Husqvarna FC Factory Editions: fuel injection and servicing

The FC 450 also gets engine work. Husqvarna cites extensive development for both engines, particularly on the cylinder head. Added to this are a redesigned intake tract, top-feed fuel injection and a new Engine Management System for both models. These measures are intended to deliver more efficient combustion, more precise response and controllable power delivery across the entire rev range. A new exhaust system with resonance chambers in the header pipe rounds off the package. Husqvarna has also thought about the work off the track: a rerouted wiring harness and a revised component layout are designed to make servicing easier.

Husqvarna has also revised the FC 450's engine and cites a new exhaust system with resonance chambers in the header pipe.

Husqvarna FC Factory Editions: new WP suspension

Both Factory Editions receive a new WP XACT closed-cartridge fork. For its development, Husqvarna drew on comparison tests with riders ranging from ambitious amateurs to world championship racers. The closed-cartridge system is designed to improve front-end feel, deliver consistent damping and inspire more confidence across varying track conditions. There is also a new frame with revised stiffness values and new chassis geometry. Husqvarna expects this to bring more stability, agility and precision, both in quick changes of direction and in demanding off-road terrain.

At the rear, a WP XACT shock works with a new linkage and optimised positioning. This also frees up space for a straighter intake tract. The Factory Racing triple clamps and the Factory Start Device come from WP PRO COMPONENTS. The latter is part of the race-start equipment. Frame, suspension and intake are thus revised together, rather than limiting the changes to a single component.

Husqvarna FC Factory Editions: racing features

The features list is long. Both models come with a Rekluse clutch cover, a Factory Racing seat with a GUTS cover and a Factory Racing frame protection kit. The ProTaper handlebar carries a bar pad and soft grey ODI lock-on grips. A floating front Wave brake disc with front disc guard and a Factory skid plate are also part of the package. The Factory Racing wheelset is supplied by WP PRO COMPONENTS, and Husqvarna fits Dunlop Geomax MX34 tyres. A black rear sprocket and a gold racing chain complete the features.

Among other things, the FC 450 Factory Edition comes with a Factory Racing wheelset and Dunlop Geomax MX34 tyres.

Husqvarna FC Factory Editions: design and dealers

Visually, Husqvarna goes for dominant white with dark blue accents. The new frame features a high-gloss white powder coating, complemented by an exclusive Team Husqvarna graphics kit using in-mould technology. According to the manufacturer, the design reflects the brand's functional design approach and Swedish heritage. The FC 250 Factory Edition and FC 450 Factory Edition are available from authorised Husqvarna Mobility dealers. Availability varies by market. Information on pricing and availability in each country is provided by the national Husqvarna Mobility subsidiary or the relevant importer.
