Yamaha 2027 Colours: New Looks from Ténéré to XMAX
Retro liveries, Redline and a new MT-125 design
Heritage White for the Ténéré 700 Rally, Sarron blue for the XSR900 GP and Redline for the MT family: the new season is getting colourful. On top of that come a revised look for the MT-125 and changes to the off-road models.
A fresh coat of paint doesn't always have to be subtle. For the 2027 model year, Yamaha is reaching into the paint cupboard and catering to very different tastes: rally history for the Ténéré, Grand Prix nostalgia for the XSR and a new Redline look for the MT family. The press material also mentions changes that go beyond paint and decals, though. That's why the MT-125, the YZ250F and the WR450F in particular deserve a closer look.
Yamaha Ténéré 700: Heritage White for the Rally
For 2027, the Ténéré 700 Rally wears the new Heritage White livery, with which Yamaha references its own rally history. The standard Ténéré 700 keeps Icon Blue and gains Crystal Graphite as a new colour option. Both liveries get new graphics. For the Ténéré 700, Yamaha also mentions slimmer lines, without detailing any specific changes to components or dimensions in this material.
Yamaha XSR900 and GP bring back the past
On the XSR900 GP, the new Legend Blue joins Legend Yellow. Yamaha cites French Grand Prix racer Christian Sarron as the inspiration. If you'd rather pair your retro look with a nod to the '90s, the XSR900 has you covered: its new livery, inspired by the pink YZF-750R, joins Midnight Black. The press release is inconsistent on the name, however. In the detailed model section it's called White Neon, in the overview Neon White. Which name will ultimately appear in the configurator isn't clear from the release.
Yamaha MT-125 with a new look, Redline for the MT range
The little MT moves visually closer to its bigger siblings. For the MT-125, Yamaha announces a revised design modelled on the MT-07 and MT-09. The material doesn't mention any specific technical changes to the 125. The shared new colour for the MT family is called Redline. There's one exception: the MT-09 SP doesn't get this colour. Instead, its Icon Performance colourway receives revised graphics. So if you've got your eye on the SP, you'll have to do without the new red.
Yamaha R1 RACE gets a new Icon Blue for 2027
Among the supersports, the R1 RACE features in the colour line-up with a new version of Icon Blue. Yamaha also continues to offer the R9, R7, R3 and R125. In the material, the manufacturer describes the R9 as a two-time championship winner and the flagship of this model range. No further technical changes to these supersports are described in this announcement.
Yamaha YZ250F and WR450F: More than new graphics
In the off-road line-up, Yamaha announces performance improvements for the YZ250F and a revised chassis design for the WR450F. Which components are changed and how big the differences are remains open in this release. The promised improvements in performance and riding performance are manufacturer claims.
New Icon Blue graphics accompany the 2027 off-road line-up. The YZ450F, YZ250F, YZ250 and YZ125 also each get a Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition. The WR450F receives a new graphics kit. The wider range mentioned includes the WR250F, TT-R125, TT-R110, TT-R50 and PW50. The announcement thus covers motocross as well as enduro and smaller off-road models.
Yamaha XMAX and NMAX: Avio Blue for Tech MAX
Among the sport scooters, Avio Blue joins the MAX family. Yamaha names the Tech MAX and Tech MAX+ variants of the XMAX and NMAX model ranges. The new colour complements Crystal Graphite. One additional detail applies specifically to the NMAX 125 Tech MAX: in Crystal Graphite, it rolls on bronze wheels for 2027. So the new look here isn't limited to the painted fairing panels.
Yamaha MyRide: Navigation and ride recording
The free MyRide app is also part of the announcement. For Yamaha bikes and scooters with a connected dash, the manufacturer lists smartphone functions as well as Garmin navigation on selected models or Google-based turn-by-turn navigation. Which solution is available depends on the model. On top of that come reminders for servicing and statutory inspections. Rides can be recorded and data such as acceleration, average and top speed, and distance tracked. Moments captured on the road can be shared on social media. Yamaha also mentions connecting with other users and discovering new routes.
