Yamaha Tenere 700: Touratech Tech Upgrade 2025

In the area of vehicle protection, Touratech relies on robust, practice-oriented solutions. The highlight is the new fairing crash bar, specifically tailored to the latest model generation from 2025 onward. Made from 25-millimeter-thick stainless steel tubing and featuring a vehicle-matched line, the crash bar comes with an integrated "Tech Plate". This universal mounting element allows for easy-access, off-road-proof lashing of a wide variety of soft luggage pieces extending the benefit far beyond mere protection.

The program is complemented by the model-specific "Expedition" engine guard made from four-millimeter-thick aluminum. Defensa hand guards as well as water pump, headlight, and ABS sensor protection round out the all-around protection package from the oil pan to the handlebars.

For off-road use, Touratech has developed functional detail improvements. A brake lever extension as well as generously sized "Works" adventure touring foot pegs are specifically designed for use with enduro boots. According to the manufacturer, an off-road air filter offers high filtering performance combined with high air throughput especially under dusty conditions. The side stand foot extension is also meant to improve stability on soft ground.

For luggage transport on the Yamaha Tenere 700, Touratech offers various systems. Model-specific pannier racks made from 18 x 2-millimeter-thick stainless steel tubing enable the mounting of various ZEGA aluminum pannier systems. The current flagship model, ZEGA Evo, features an off-road-proof and comfortably operable locking mechanism.

Alternatively, waterproof side bags from the Endurance, Travel, and Extreme Edition ranges with quick-release fasteners are available. Anyone wanting to travel without a fixed rack can opt for the Discovery 2 soft luggage system, which is attached to the pillion seat via a strap system. Tank bags from the Ambato series as well as additional bags in various sizes round out the range.

For the fork, Touratech offers a version of the Cartridge Kit Extreme specifically tailored to the T7. The cartridge system replaces the fork's standard internals and combines spring and damping in a single unit. As advantages, the manufacturer cites sensitive response, reserves in extreme situations, and extensive adjustment options for spring preload, rebound, and compression.

To match, the Touratech Suspension Extreme 2 shock absorber is available. In addition to the three basic parameters, it allows separate adjustments for high- and low-speed compression. A flow-optimized damper piston, low-friction seals, a large oil volume in the ribbed reservoir, and a hydraulic bottom-out stop are designed for consistent performance and durability.

According to Touratech, the Extreme 2 shock absorber proved its capability at the Africa Eco Race 2026. Mike Wiedemann, riding a correspondingly equipped Tenere 700, achieved fourth place overall.

As a more cost-effective alternative, Touratech offers progressive replacement springs for the fork and shock absorber. These are intended to provide improved sensitivity over small bumps as well as more riding stability under heavy loads or a sporty riding style. For riders struggling with the seat height of the Yamaha Tenere 700, lowering kits are available. With a progressive characteristic, they lower the bike by 35 millimeters without significantly compromising off-road capability.

Rounding out the tech upgrade are accessories such as handlebar risers, GPS mount adapters, and recovery grips. According to the manufacturer, these components are based on years of experience in touring and off-road use.
