Insta360 X4 Air: New 8K 360° Camera

Insta360's popular X series is getting a new addition: with the new Insta360 X4 Air, the manufacturer presents a particularly lightweight 360° camera for everyday use, travel and action-packed adventures. The camera weighs in at just 165 grams, yet still delivers impressive 8K 360° videos with everything you'd expect from a modern action cam.

The X4 Air is significantly lighter than the well-known X5 and aims to appeal not only to professionals but also to beginners. The housing is robust, handy and waterproof up to 15 meters, making it perfect for a backpack or handlebar mount.

Two large 1/1.8-inch sensors ensure detail-rich footage with rich colors, whether motorcycling, hiking or on a city trip.

Insta360 has particularly refined image quality and handling. The new AdaptiveTone algorithm analyzes the light from both lenses individually and automatically balances brightness and color. The result: natural contrast, even in backlit conditions.

Additionally, Active HDR ensures realistic dynamic range in bright and dark areas, now even at 8K with 30 fps.

Anyone who has worked with 360° cameras before knows: you don't have to worry about anything while filming. The two fisheye lenses capture everything. The desired frame is chosen later in the Insta360 app.

With features like InstaFrame, 360° videos can be exported directly as shareable clips while simultaneously recording the complete all-around video. Perfect for social media or vlogs, without hours of post-production.

Particularly handy: the X4 Air responds to gesture control, voice, or a twist of the selfie stick to start recording. This is helpful when the camera is mounted on a motorcycle or when you're wearing gloves.

The camera supports Bluetooth headsets like Sena or Cardo, so you can record audio directly through your headset practical on the bike or on the go.

The replaceable lenses now have twice the impact resistance and can be quickly swapped out if scratched. An optional lens guard prevents reflections and protects during off-road tours.

With a runtime of up to 100 minutes at 6K, the camera is also equipped for longer rides or day trips.

In the Insta360 app, AI-powered tools such as Auto Edit or FlashCut handle the editing. Highlights are automatically recognized, transitions are set, and music is synced. If you like, you can upload clips directly to the cloud and share via Insta360+, including interactive 360° playback.

The Insta360 X4 Air will be available from October 28th in Graphite Black and Polar White.
