To achieve this, the crankshaft and cylinder from the 300 model are now utilized, featuring a revised stroke (69.9 mm instead of 72 mm) and an increased bore (67.4 mm). The cylinder has been redesigned in its transfer ports and accommodates a new piston.

A redesigned cylinder head with a modified combustion chamber continues to allow the use of a dual spark plug setup. This is electronically controlled separately, offering the following advantages according to Beta:

• Improved ignition distribution and reduced scavenging losses
• Enhanced combustion stability
• Emergency running capability in case of a spark plug failure

The effect of these measures is intended to result in increased torque and improved handling through mass centralization and a lower center of gravity.
