Royal Enfield unveiled the new Bear 650 at EICMA 2024, echoing the legendary design and spirit of the scrambler motorcycles from the 1960s. Inspired by Eddie Mulder's historic victory at the Big Bear Run in 1960, the Bear 650 combines modern technology with a characterful retro aesthetic.

The design is inspired by the classic scrambler style with a high seat, wide handlebars, and an elevated rear. The three color variants Petrol Green, Golden Shadow, and the special Two Four Nine paint give the Bear 650 the presence one expects from such a bike.

The Bear 650 is equipped with Royal Enfield's proven 650 cc parallel-twin engine. The engine delivers 47 hp at 7,250 rpm and a torque of 56.5 Nm at 5,150 rpm. The 2-in-1 exhaust system optimizes torque and provides a broader power band. The compact single muffler reduces weight and complements the minimalist scrambler design.

Chassis invites on gravel sections

For a stable and comfortable ride, the Showa suspension is designed to deliver: At the front, there's an USD fork with 130 mm of travel, and at the rear, stereo shock absorbers with 115 mm of travel. This configuration is tailored for various terrains and enhances the versatility of the Bear 650. The Bear 650 is equipped with a 19-inch front wheel and a 17-inch rear wheel, which, in conjunction with the wide dual-sport tires and a ground clearance of 184 mm, make it suitable for rough terrain.

The seating position of the Bear 650 is designed for comfort and control, thanks to its wide handlebars and centrally positioned footpegs. The contoured seat is intended to provide freedom of movement and support on uneven terrain. Braking performance is ensured by a 320 mm disc brake at the front and a 270 mm disc brake at the rear. For off-road rides, the rear ABS can be deactivated.

Royal Enfield Bear 650 2025: Features

Although the Bear 650 is styled in retro fashion, it offers modern features. The TBT dashboard (Turn-By-Turn navigation) with TFT display provides ride information and integrates Google Maps for navigation. The display is operated via a joystick on the aluminum switch unit. A USB-C port allows for charging devices while riding, and the LED lighting ensures better visibility and visibility.

Price and Availability of the New Royal Enfield Bear 650

The Bear 650 will be available at European dealers starting February 2025. In Germany, the Petrol Green variant costs €7,640, Golden Shadow €7,790, and the special paint Two Four Nine €7,890.
