Bei der BMW S 1000 R merkt man sowohl die enge Verwandtschaft zum Superbike S 1000 RR als auch das Bestreben, die Maschine für die Landstraße und den Alltag mit einem hohne Maß an Komfort auszustatten. Dementsprechend brachial und dennoch gut kontrollierbar geht das 1000er-Vierzylinder-Triebwerk an die Arbeit und dementsprechend sportlich bequem ist die Sitzposition. Dass die S 1000 R eines der günstigsten Power-Naked Bikes ist, überrascht und erfreut sehr, allerdings darf man dabei die Liste der Sonderausstattungen nicht in die Hände bekommen - denn dank der vielen unwiderstehlichen Features wird es bestimmt teurer.
