GS je doma téměř všude - ale jen v omezené míře na závodní dráze. Je radost cítit sílu částečně vodou chlazeného boxerového dvouválce na výjezdu ze zatáčky - 125 koní se jen na papíře zdá mnohem slabších než 150 nebo dokonce 160 koní u konkurence. S točivým momentem 125 newtonmetrů je zrychlení odspodu i tak vynikající a GS s hmotností 238 kg připravené k jízdě nenese přes svůj objemný vzhled příliš mnoho špeku. Ve velmi ostrých zatáčkách se pozitivně projevuje i nízko položené těžiště - BMW R 1200 GS je velmi těžké rozlousknout! Dokonce i přední teleleverové odpružení, které potlačuje tendenci předního kola zapadat při brzdění, dokonale zapadá do celkového balíčku GS a může jen mírně ubírat na jeho sportovním charakteru.

Tiger 800 XC se mi líbí nejen na silnici při každodenním dojíždění do práce. Je to velmi nekomplikované vozidlo, které je díky výkonnému a živému motoru nejen velmi užitečné, ale také zábavné. Na závodní dráze jsem vozidlo používal vlastně jen pro svou práci instruktora. Ale nemohl jsem si pomoci a musel jsem se jednou vydat na trať v rychlejší skupině. S kvalitním podvozkem a svižným motorem byla radost jezdit a Tiger 800 XC je pro mě univerzální talent par excellence.
