Navzdory poněkud svérázné kombinaci rozumné pohonné jednotky se středním výkonem 73,4 k a extrémně agresivního sportovního vzhledu není R7 v žádném případě ovcí ve vlčím rouše. Výkon, který se pohybuje někde mezi R3 a R6, se v praxi ukázal být mnohem silnější, než by napovídaly čisté hodnoty na papíře, a pokud jde o geometrii, podvozek, brzdy a pneumatiky, inženýři Yamahy si dali opravdu záležet. Kromě toho má Yamaha R7 všechny předpoklady k tomu, aby si na kompaktní závodní trati, jako je například Pannoniaring, užila spoustu zábavy hned po vybalení z krabice, a to i bez velkých investic. Ale samozřejmě se lépe cítí na venkovské silnici, a tam podle našeho názoru patří především. Vzhledem k celkovému balení je pořizovací cena více než férově nastavená - takže není problém, že quickshifter není součástí balení a musí se dokoupit jako volitelná výbava.

BMW může i v roce 2015 získat body na základě tvrdých faktů. Pokud máte rádi špičkový výkon, musíte si koupit BMW. Ukazuje se neuvěřitelně výkonné na špici a zbytek pole odhání od dvou stovek. Velcí a těžcí jezdci z toho budou moci těžit ještě více. BMW si to s tímto motocyklem neulehčilo a sestavilo velmi univerzální motorku. Kdybyste udělali srovnávací test s 50 různými jezdci (od nováčků po profesionály), BMW by mělo nejlepší průměr ze všech motocyklů o objemu 1000 ccm. Díky elektronickému podvozku, ale i jízdním pomůckám jsou profesionálové na silnici rychlí a začátečníci bezpeční. Špičkové doporučení pro velmi širokou cílovou skupinu. Velmi rychlí hobby jezdci nebudou se standardním odpružením stoprocentně spokojeni. Pokud nechcete upravovat podvozek, měli byste raději sáhnout po R1M, Panigale S nebo RSV RF. Pokud přesto chcete přestavovat, je S 1000 RR nejsilnějším a nejuniverzálnějším základem. Překvapivě silný stroj jezdí velmi dobře i na polních cestách. Celkově to vypadá jako kompromis, ale v praxi to tak nikdy nepůsobí.
