Na prvních metrech se mi krátce zdálo, že síla trochu chybí. Po chvíli se však rychle ukázalo, že výkon není všechno a že dokonalý požitek z jízdy lze zaručit i s malým počtem koní. V USA platí pravidla silničního provozu, kterým se říká "lane splitting", což znamená, že se v případě dopravní zácpy posunete dopředu mezi auta. Například před semafory. Musím se přiznat, že jsem se tu zpočátku necítil moc dobře. Porsche vlevo, Dodge vpravo, s kolem se vám opravdu nechce kličkovat. Řídítka BMW G310R jsou však poměrně úzká, a tak si můžete cestu vpřed přes kolony aut opravdu bez rozmýšlení prošvindlovat! Jediným nedostatkem, kterého jsem si všiml hned na začátku, je brzdový pedál. Ten je bohužel poněkud daleko dole. Zadní brzda se také zatahovala trochu pozdě. Ale to se dá jistě optimalizovat úpravou. Celkově se jedná o velmi zdařilé kolo. Je super všestranné, opravdu zábavné v každé oblasti a od prvního okamžiku se na něm cítíte pohodlně! V závislosti na rozsahu otáček, ve kterém se pohybujete, můžete motorku přizpůsobit svému stylu jízdy. Cestování v nízkých otáčkách a super sportovní jízda ve vysokých otáčkách! Perfektní všestranný roadster za skvělou cenu.

No, každopádně se jedná o přechodné období, což svou podstatou popisuje i 390 Duke. Už to není malý Duke, ale ještě ani velký, 390 je přesně uprostřed. Neměli byste ho podceňovat, ale ani byste od něj neměli očekávat příliš mnoho. Pokud to budete mít na paměti, užijete si s ním spoustu zábavy i na nepříliš rychlé závodní trati. (Na silnici by jich však pak nemělo být příliš mnoho tisíc.) Lehce se ovládá jako moped, ale už je stejně silný jako nejeden funkční motocykl o objemu 600 ccm z posledních 10 let.
