Odpružení by bylo pro závodní okruh asi příliš měkké, ale pro souboj na venkovské silnici je tak akorát, a stejně tak brzdy - pro okruh asi jen přijatelné, ale na venkovskou silnici ideální.

Yamaha MT-09 SP to měla snadné už v předchozí generaci, protože se jedná o ještě dokonalejší verzi již tak dobrého, protože úžasně agilního zábavného stroje! Současná verze SP není jiná, ale byla ještě vylepšena. O něco vyšší výkon, vyšší točivý moment a lépe vyladěná elektronika z něj dělají ještě zábavnější stroj. Odpružení s klasičtějšími komponenty KYB a Öhlins funguje podle očekávání výborně, brzdy by mohly být o něco ostřejší, ale posez je stále takový, jaký byste od takto agilního a snadno ovladatelného zábavného stroje očekávali. Těch pár vychytávek, jako je malý TFT displej nebo kontroverzní světelná maska, ji v žádném případě nezhoršují, ale jednoduše jí dodávají ještě nezávislejší osobnost!
