Pros and Cons in comparison
Yamaha MT-125 2020
The Yamaha MT 125 is an elegant yet sporty naked bike that delivers a lot of power, especially in the lower rev range. The upright seating position and good handling round off the MT. The disadvantages, however, are that no LED turn signals have been installed and that you protrude above the speedometer when your upper body is bent forward.
Yamaha YZF-R125 2019
The Yamaha YZF-R125 in the 2019 version makes journalists' lives difficult. You search and search for a fault, but can't find one - simply frustrating! Because the 15 hp single-cylinder with variable valve timing (VVA) performs excellently and is undoubtedly one of the best power units in the 125cc class. The handling is convincing in everyday life as well as on the racetrack, even if the chassis shows its sporty side on bumps. But we are on a super sports bike, so that is not a serious point of criticism. Maybe I need to ride the R125 for a few weeks to find its Achilles heel after all....
